An argument can be made that there is no reason that Miranda, Jacob T. Legion, Grunt, Thane, Zaeed, Legion, Samara, Kasumi, Jack, Kelly Chambers, Gabby and Ken, Rupert, Doc. Chuckwas, couldn't be back full time. In fact I think given the size of the Normandy there is plenty of room for all of them along with the new characters and Old ME1 cast.

Is anyone annoyed that the normandy is an alliance ship again?
Its seems like a betrayal to he cerberus crew to simply hand over the ship to the alliance and if the alliance somehow captured it I don't want it back

i don't care if this makes me an unrealistic brat, but quite frankly i would have preferred having everyone who's ever served on the squad make a reappearance on the normandy (including the three new players - vega, edi, and prothy). as someone invested in the story, sure it's interesting to see what's happening on their home fronts, but due to game mechanics, this won't actually allow us much insight into their characters; only time on the ship can grant that.

Only VS, dextro-team, Liara, both spoilers and Vega are listed. 7 permanent-or-so-squadmates.

Tali has been confirmed, numerous times via screenshot and dev input, to be a permanent squadmate.

I'd be happy with that but its bad writing which is what bothers me about the alliance having the normandy again

I do hate the idea of EDI as a squadmate but as far as the rest go it was kind of expected guys... I mean most of the ME2 squad had important roles so it makes sense they aren't full squadies tho many of them could have totally been squadmates after their missions were done. In all honesty before the leaks I thought the squad would be this:

Garrus (he's got nothing else to do)
Tali
Grunt (Your his battlemaster...why would he leave?)
Liara
VS
Legion
Jack
Vega
+ two new people

Actually, I'm good with that lineup honestly. Mostly, because I actually liked the Jack romance out of all of the other options simply because it was the most surprisingly rewarding. It was not an obvious thing to get, had one of the better 'sex' scenes in terms of emotions, and generally liked the voice actress. Tali of course has been a favorite since ME 1 as well as ME 2. Honestly, I REALLY freaking hated what they did to the VS survivor and don't give a damn if they are dead somewhere. They ruined that character IMO with ME 2 and forcing them back on us now just seems like a complete waste. Liara I liked simply because the femshep romance options were down right horrible otherwise. So my line up:

Liara
Jack
Tali
Garrus
Kasumi
James Vega

Promethean - This feels like a story character like Legion was for ME 2 in some ways. Not ideal but added some interesting things that were needed to move the story along I think.
EDI - Don't care either way, seems kinda stupid to make her a character, she was great where she was

Realistically speaking, I doubt that more than 6 or 7 squaddies will be acceptable in that regard. ME2 sacrificed a lot from the main plot for the sake of the characters and that was fine. ME3 sacrificed the characters for the sake of the plot.

No.
BioWare could have easily had a balanced team by mixing the old squaddies with the new ME2- squaddies.
With possibly throwing in 1 or 2 new ones to keep the squad fresh.
But instead they went the most unjustified, illogical and unbalanced way ever.

Offcourse BioWrae couldn´t have had to put the whole ME2-squad in. Seriously. I can´t believe that some people are justifying the horrible squad-listing with and argument like that.

Vega will pull guard duty and Garrus will stay on board doing calibrations all day, unless Ashley and Liara prove too annoying

Bioware is satisfied if we can find 2 ppl to use.  The thing is, I don't like Ashley or Liara lol
