Agreed. Batarian sentinel is seriously needed since I have no sentinel in ME3.

I'm pretty happy with the ME3 squad. Even though some of my favourites were not included, I still have a feeling they're doing something important out there. Hell, some of them are probably going to die in my playthroughs, but those deaths will be glorious so I'm still ok with that.

Ok.... I had heard rumors but...

Im reserving my final judgement until the game comes out and ive had a chance to meet the group. Ive seen conversation form the leaks tough and I can say it is good. But reading from paper is nothing compared to the experience so im not judging yet.

Indeed she is. I'm skeptical of the decision, but if it's executed well, I'm fine with it.

I have no problem with it...its not my Shepard Magnificent Seven or Dirty Dozens but hey that may be for the better...things did not turn out to well for those guys.

She was the one squadmate I was all set up to loathe entirely, but some of her lines are just so golden I can't.

That's good to hear; all right, that raises it to 6 awesome squadmates and 1 I have yet to pass judgement on.

Ok just did a quick google. Damn. I like Prothy..but EDI's new look will take some getting used to

With my Vanguard Shep, she's gonna have a blast with Ash/Vega and EDI/Prothy in her team, followed by the old duo of Garrus/Tali

I read the leaks. I knew this was all coming. I also loved it. Finally, I get to know others share my love.

It's not my dream squad (I'll especially miss Kasumi and Miranda, the VS and Vega I don't really care for...and I won't download the prothean)...but from what I've seen, all characters are well written (no calibrations^_^). Every character seems more developed, and more differentiated then the casts of Mass Effect 1/2...and there is squad interaction!

I find it really weird that I read the leaks and still have no idea what half the people here go on about. Either there were more leaks which I missed or I have a very selective memory.

I like the new squad. It's not my dream squad, but then, I wasn't expecting Bioware to make the game for me. I don't like the design they chose for EDI, but then that's basically because they made her a naked robot chick. Here's hoping for DLC outfits to rectify that. I actually kinda like the whole giving-her-a-body thing, it seemed a fairly logical step. I just don't like the body they chose. The whole Metropolis influence is way more noticable in some of the alternate designs.

The fact that the whole scene in the leaks where they get her body referred to it as 'fembot' didn't help my impressions much.

That is probably the best thing ME3 has going for it: Garrus finished his goddamn calibrations.

@Eudaemonium: I actually find naked robot less suggestive than scantily clad robot.  Probably because I'm an art student.  Some days I see more naked people than I do clothed people.

I was a bit disappointed originally, but I've long since gotten used to the new squad, even if my favourites aren't on it. I'm especially looking forward to having Ashley back, and having Garrus/Tali along is always fun. They've been with Shep almost every step of the way, after all.

Even though I think the EDI body thing is stupid, I like EDI, so I'm interested in having it (suppose in light of the style of body, I should start saying 'her') along in the party and seeing the conversations. Not so much the *other* things the body may be used for. The prothean also looks like he could be a very interesting character, so I'm eager to meet him.

You make a good point, Cheez (as always). I actually dislike the design far less now than I did at first, but that might just be because I've been desensitised to it. And yeah, I actually get what you mean with the whole total nakedness vs scantily clad suggestiveness, thing.

But to remark on the other point, maybe Garrus will actually have some more goddamn dialogue now.

I'm actually currently replaying ME2 right now; after recruiting Mordin (having gotten Garrus first), I went to talk to Garrus, and sure enough, he was in the middle of some calibrations. A state in which he will remain for half the game.

As opposed to the last third of the game or so, in which he will instead continually talk about how he's still working on his research for interspecies sex. While probably doing calibrations on the side, I think.

So looking forward to getting more dialogue with the squad this time around.

The very top right concept of EDI is the best one imo

cant see why people are moaning!!! add miranda and mordin and maybe wrex i'd nerdgasism right now lol

You can't add Miranda and Mordin as then there would be complaining from people angry that their favourite ME2 character didn't make the cut and people would also complain that Miranda was only added for her sex appeal

One thing I don't get is how people are quick to dismiss Prothy because the Protheans are meant to be extinct. Well.

Theory, not fact.
-In Mass Effect 2, we learn the Protheans became tools of the Reapers. It's just a theory, but what if a rare few managed to escape the Reapers' grasp?
-These remaining Protheans began making technology to wipe out the Reapers, but they managed to relent before doing so.
-They went into statis (see: Ilos as an example) for 50k years so the Reapers would return, so they could continue developing the technology.
-It can be perceived that the statues are made by Protheans, but who's to say they really are Protheans?

Ergo, why there's suddenly a Prothean on the squad.

If it really bothers everyone that much, he'll most likely be the CE DLC character, so he'll be optional. Besides, (I can't read minds or determine motives), wouldn't the guy who leaked the art book have scanned another Ally page if there was an eighth squaddie?

The only thing I'm sad about is how little screen time Wrex had in ME2 and will have in ME3. It makes perfect sense for his character and he definitely deserves to become the goddamn king of the Krogan, but I can't help disliking how little we'll see of him.

Although many of my favorites were introduced in ME2, I'm fine with the ME3 full-timers. Some of the ME2 squadmates are getting a genuinely superior storytelling shake by not being confined to the Normandy from the tidbits of spoilers I've come across.

So much so, in fact, that I'm entirely OK with the notion that from an overarching perspective, many of them ultimately joined Shepard's squad in ME2 with the express purpose of going off to various locales and helping to culminate their related plot threads in ME3.

And honestly, that's pretty cool.
