What's wrong with EDI's body? It isn't any more fanservice-y than Miranda's... or even Samara's. It looks cool, I think. I'm hoping she'll be a sentinel or something, but probably not, considering that she's a robot and therefore probably incapable of using biotic powers. We already have Tali as an engineer.
I'm more than willing to admit it could have been better, but mostly I simply take issue to the recurring "gotta be sexy!" rampant in every female character's page we've thus far seen in the art book. They keep hammering that in, and it is fairly disgusting.
The design itself? Could have been better. Damn though, it's got nothing on Samara's.

We haven't seen that on Liara's page, have we? And of course we haven't even seen Tali's page yet...<_<JeffZero wrote...

Yeah, I think you're right. Well the Ash thing really got me a tad miffed, in any case. I liked her look just fine in ME1. Again, I don't even find much issue with her ME3 design, but the blurb was facepalm-worthy.

I gladly won't, but no doubt someone will.

I've actually decided against purchasing the art book because of its writing. I understand I'm in the deep minority here on this one, but yeah, it's true.

I AM OFFENDED AS BOTH A GAMER AND A WOMAN.
Bought the book anyway, but I'm going to be using white-out over all the text. My love for concept art will not be sullied by drunken marketing dudes vomiting words out at the second grade level.

I am, I am. But I'm talking about the big one, "The Art of the Mass Effect Universe". If those same pages with those same blurbs are there - and apparently they are - then the pretty pictures aren't really worth thirty bucks to me anymore.

Well, if implications have served me well, you're majoring in art. I'd be the same way with an informative text on voice acting, acting, scriptwriting, book-writing and anthropology. Oh, and history.
But not art.

It has double the pretty pictures, however. Possibly going all the back to ME1's concept work.JeffZero wrote...

Hence why I'm all GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE--you can't get the ME1 book for cheaps.
Ahem. New squadmates. New squadmates everywhere.

That's a let-down. I'll have to switch my vanguard Shepard to a sentinel or an adept or something if I want to effectively play on Insanity with Garrus and EDI in my squad at all possible times. Are our new game plus powers carrying over?Vapaä wrote...

I think she meant literally that Tali can die. Which is true. I was confused at first, too.
Still, I thought they would've made her some other class; we'll be really limited in ME3 with a small cast that includes 2 soldiers and 2 engineers. They aren't exactly the same, but still.

No, there's new bonus powers (some ME2 bonus return)...it can be worth mentioning that your level doesn't reset if you change class

Humans... humans, humans, humans, more humans, another human, Look over there! a human- wait! its something different- oh, it's a robot in a human body.
What happened to all of those interesting species in the galaxy? Humans are generic, boring, and they're everywhere. No Salarian squad member, no Krogan squad member, hell, if Garrus and Tali are dead in your game then Liara will pretty much be the only alien aboard the Normandy, and the Asari are the most human alien species!
And if that wasn't bad enough you'll be spending most of your time shooting at Cerberus troops, who also happen to be human.

I haven't fully read into the leaks, but I would say Wrex is the most prominent example of a character who would not have nearly shined as much if he was in the party for all three installments instead of becoming a leader like he has.JeffZero wrote...
Although many of my favorites were introduced in ME2, I'm fine with the ME3 full-timers. Some of the ME2 squadmates are getting a genuinely superior storytelling shake by not being confined to the Normandy from the tidbits of spoilers I've come across.
So much so, in fact, that I'm entirely OK with the notion that from an overarching perspective, many of them ultimately joined Shepard's squad in ME2 with the express purpose of going off to various locales and helping to culminate their related plot threads in ME3.
And honestly, that's pretty cool.

2/7 of the ME3 squadmates are human, as opposed to 2/6 in ME1 and 5/12 in ME2. That's actually the smallest human-to-non-human ratio we've had yet.EJ107 wrote...
I'm glad to see (most of) the squad from ME1 back, but really, my thoughts on the squad (And from what I've seen, the game as a whole):

As for the lack of geth, drell, krogan, salarians, batarians, and the like, hopefully some interesting NPCs and multiplayer will more than make up for that.
