I'm glad to see (most of) the squad from ME1 back, but really, my thoughts on the squad (And from what I've seen, the game as a whole):

Humans... humans, humans, humans, more humans, another human, Look over there! a human- wait! its something different- oh, it's a robot in a human body.

What happened to all of those interesting species in the galaxy? Humans are generic, boring, and they're everywhere. No Salarian squad member, no Krogan squad member, hell, if Garrus and Tali are dead in your game then Liara will pretty much be the only alien aboard the Normandy, and the Asari are the most human alien species:pinched:

And if that wasn't bad enoughyou'll be spending most of your time shooting at Cerberus troops, who also happen to be human.

2/7 of the ME3 squadmates are human, as opposed to 2/6 in ME1 and 5/12 in ME2. That's actually the smallest human-to-non-human ratio we've had yet.

But three of them are them are old squadmates (two of which can be dead), one is a robot in a (presumably) human body and one is a DLC character who pretty much breaks the lore.

Plus, Ashely and Kaiden are techically two characters, assuming they have completely seperate dialogue and combat roles.

Also, the two new "support" characters on the ship (who are also LI's) are human.

This means that we get 1 new alien character (Who I already hate simply by how much they contradict the lore) and 3 new human characters

The crew has always been human.  It's an Alliance/Cerberus ship, after all.

How can you hate the new alien squadmate? He's awesome. And the non-squad crew has always been human, so I'm not sure why you're complaining about that.

They cannot allow a situation where a Shepard enters the game entirely without teammates, or with only two. Why can't people see that?

Yeah, but can you imagine playing the majority of the game solo, with no buddies to talk to or use in combat?

We already have Tali as an engineer.

Tali can die, EDI is an engineer (rumored skillset: incinerate, overload, defense matrix, decoy)

LOL Why you use Tali as your user avatar? What a hypocrisy, don't let Chris Jericho see your post. Image IPB

Agreed, EDI could be an awesome squadmate.

I think she meant literally that Tali can die. Which is true. I was confused at first, too.

Still, I thought they would've made her some other class; we'll be really limited in ME3 with a small cast that includes 2 soldiers and 2 engineers. They aren't exactly the same, but still.

Oops, my bad. hehe..

Nope, why would they make EDI a soldier or a biotic? she technically a cyborg, right? watch Terminator 3, that female Terminator or T-X is probably Engineer/Infiltrator,

I guess. I suppose that even though I love Garrus and Tali I really want to see another Turian/Quarian actually get an important role in the story. Also we have no Krogan on the team now, which is unacceptable.

My complaint with those two new "crew" characters is becuase it means that the LI options in this game are four humans and Liara. Not much variety.

Which gives me the sad, but it's silly to base how much you like a character on their species.

Do what I do and mercilessly sexually harass the prothean.

New romances, sure. You can carry over Garrus or Tali romances though, which is what I'm doing most games.

My guess is that they'll give us one more after Prothy, if Prothy is indeed DLC.

In ME3? There's one.

Hint: It's the non-announced character with a big support thread.

Right now am only going to reserve judgement till I've played the game, but am carefully optimistic about the ME3 squad. I don't know why people are shocked about the Prothean making it into the game. clearly people where not paying attention to the game in ME1 on Ilos when Vigil start to explain what happens to the rest of the Protheans, by began cutting power to the pods of non-essential staff to conserve energy only the top researchers — a dozen individuals — were left. Vigil woke them, and the scientists pieced together what had happened. it didn't say they all die.
