As for male, I'm not particularly good at judging the attractiveness of men, but Sean Bean and Viggo Mortensen both seem to have pretty good bone structure.

There are a lot of models that don't have faces that have been augmented with surgery, that's actualyy why they get picked because they look that way from the beginning. For the people thatI've seen who have clearly had work done on thier faces, they were usually average looking to begin with and wind up looking worse once the surgery is done.
As for being dangerously thin, its not visually attractive but if you live in America its a lot more enticing that seeing so many people who can barely make it down the block without wheezing to death.

Well, doesn't matter. I'll go with my favorite criterion, the = insert object = I tolerate the most when I am most devastated by something. The thing is, when people are happy, comfortable and everything works fine for them, they can tolerate or relate to pretty much anything. However, when they are sad, low on morale or have some kind of troubles, the amount of things they would like to see in such mood starts to dwindle quickly.
So simply put,I value things that I find helpful when I am in bad mood much more than things that I like when I am happy and when it comes to faces, I'll go with the face of a guy who can really serve as an inspiration of a person who can deal with some life's blows. Literally. So, ladies & gentlemen, I vote for one of the most famous MMA champions, The Last Emperor, Fedoooooor Emelianenkoooo!
-Yeah, I am always amazed how calm and at peace with everything he looks to be despite all the punishment he receives in the

I myself would post a pic of a former classmate, but would not want to risk any loss of privacy and/or anonymity.
But as to people you all know...

The smirk gets me.

Not the best pic, but she's really something all in all. As an elf, as a ruler of a country, etc.
But as to my more weird preference of faces that "express a lot":

And anything from Florence Orvieto Cathedral, or Hieronymus Bosch for that matter.
As for something from the scene of my home country:

Probably someone who existed in the ancient age. We'd never know.
Though if you want to go by The Bible, King David is a good candidate for a male. 1 Samuel 16:12 describes him as dark, handsome, ruddy and with beautiful eyes. He was a warrior too, so I'd imagine he had a good body too. For a woman there's King David's wife Abigail who was also described as beautiful as well as intelligent.
Though David was so badass that he needed several other wives plus some cucubines. Though I guess that's nothing compared to Solomon's 700 wives and 300 concubines!
Yeah....
Personally I think people towards the later half of the twentieth century were better looking, more physically and sexually attractive than people towards the beginning half of the twentieth century or from what can see from photographs in the nineteenth century. There's very likely an evolutionary factor taking place to make people more attractive as time progresses. This however doesn't account for people who try to augment their attractiveness by unnatural means.
Pretty much. It's why girls are developing at an earlier age now, and why they have proportions that you just didn't see 50 yrs ago.
How about makeup?

Beauty is purely defined by preference, scientifically. So there's no tendency for developing more beauty, it's just that we don't prefer the beauty ideal of the people before us, just as they would have preferred a face by the standard of their own time and culture.

So then, what do you find to be beautiful?

I don't think its just a cultural thing. People from 100 years ago looke very different from people to day in their mere bone structure and body composition and there are many scientific variables that could account for this change.
