Most so-called beautiful faces on this thread make me want to throw up somewhat. I know this sounds harsh and maybe vulgar even, but that's the truth... sorry.
(save the troll-faces, especially ME ones, and Feodor Emalinenko - Bruce Lee, of course)

*snip*

So then, what do you find to be beautiful?

Well, the first picture I posted is of a beautiful face I'd guess.

There needs to be a bit of personality behind the look, eyes, expression and all that. I've never been keen on simple "elegant bone-structure" or symmetry thing. I'd much rather some originality and "spirit" behind it - something the facial expression can very well convey. And as to what I'd prefer in the personality or connection with the look, that's another question, and would require me to think a tad too much. :)

Beautiful is something that sends shivers down my spine, or makes me feel awe, in a good way. It's a grace that expresses lovable traits. Or in the least, it's something I can relate to, and feel a sypathy towards.

Though there is of course different kinds of beauty, and different reactions to them accordingly (I can get tears from some music, art, or anything else I might find the right harmony in, but mostly the reaction's just me preferring one thing to another), the instrumentally beautiful parts tend to be connected to my personal psychological input - connections to my past, no matter if indirectly, play a large role, as do my personal beliefs and preferences as to what does the thing (a person) need to be.

I don't think its just a cultural thing. People from 100 years ago looke very different from people to day in their mere bone structure and body composition and there are many scientific variables that could account for this change.

If you can prove the difference by evidence (genetically maybe), then you have a case. Otherwise I'm with the cultural explanations.
(and, by stating this, you also don't have a overwhelming overview of people's faces 100 years ago, I'd guess?)

But there's of course some truth to what you said. For one thing, we live in a much different "natural" environment than our fathers. This can cause a neglectance of more practical bodies.

Either way, it's not very correct to say that we grow more beautiful by evolution. We've always been as beautiful to one another.

Well with all the platic surgey, fake tans and really unhealthy weight and body shape thing I really don't see how people can find things like that beauitful in a men or women.

If you truly think that Kate Beckinsale's body shape is unhealthy and unattractive, you are either a straight woman or a gay man. In either case you are wrong. Her body is fantastic.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. She is a little too thin for me, I like my ladies to have some meat. She's not unhealthy  though but she does nothing for me.

My position is entirely observational. Photographs from actors from the 20's and 30's are enough to make me question the changes in people's appearances.

Here, compare a photograph of Great Garbo in her late twenties to a model from a few years ago at roughly the same age dressed and made up to look like Greta Garbo

We have numerous changes to our environment and diet that influences our appearance and can even do so to our offspring. Unless you're meticulous with your diet and live secluded from society its entirely impossible to live the way people did in the 19th century, and even then

Theoretically, we would have to grow increasingly attractive over time. The population grows and as a species we have to keep incentivizing one another to procreate. With the increasing number of people and the mixing of cultures there's more competition for all of us. Becoming more beautiful helps to even the odds in that area.

She is quite beautiful but I've always found her face to not be that unique. She is undoubtedly gorgeous though.

To be honest she's clearly attractive but she doen't capture my interest with the exception of her when she's in the role of Selene from Underworld. Perhaps its more about the atmosphere or the pale make up, but she's far more captivating that way.
