After a vote for the new default appearance of FemShep, there was a vote for her hair color, and people voted for red hair.

tbh..it was pretty dumb. I remember reading in an article how holly conrad said something to the effect of "great, now even the popular dumb blonde wins in video games"
The whole thing was handled rather poorly. I felt like they all could have looked really great but there was usually one thing about each of them that really detracted from the way shepard should look.

That whole episode was one of the biggest disgraces ever for BSN, and that is really saying something. Shows that Bioware should never listen to the most vocal segments of their fanbase. First they derailed Garrus and Tali to please the small number of pathetic romance fans on these forums, and then this. I'm starting to think the less Bioware listens to the people here, the better.

Agreed. Every time I play ME2 I wish we could go back and ignore people who didn't like the mako and the elevators.

Eeeyup.
Personally, I did like the red haired version more, but that's just my personal taste for redheads. Since you can customize Shepard's appearance anyways, AND most people don't use the defualts to begin with...it definitely ranks up there as one of the BSN's worst moments.
