Ok I know that nobody will be able to actually answer this until march but I need opinions. ME3 should use the same flags as ME2 to determine what happened in ME1. So, if I edit the flags and change it so ashley died instead of kaidan after starting ME2 it will think that ashley is alive but it should make ME3 think kaidan is alive without me having to restart ME2, this seems likely, right?

Cant answer that, as there is the confrontation on Horizon to consider. I dont know what sort of flags are tripped during your conversation with the VS. They could be generic, or specific to the VS.

Not sure if I should bump this or not but, I thought it might be worth mentioning that my guess was correct. Ashley was alive and there were no contradictory references about the death (well, none that I noticed anyway)
