Post your favourite characters here, and why you like them.

My favourite characters are:
- Tali, I like her because she is quite friendly and is very loyal to my shepard, and also because of those hips which provide excellent eye candy :)

- Zaeed, I like him cause he is so badass and I like his accen (To the point that it turns me on a little bit)

- Udina, I like him because of these 2 quotes.

"THIS IS AN OUTRAGE"
"Do the words political ****STORM mean anything to you"

NO CHARACTER BASHING 'CAUSE THEY WILL BE REPORTED

I like them all. They're all well written and make sense, so much so that I treat them like real people instead of Characters.

Just talking companion characters?

Tali, Liara (Liked her a lot less in ME2 up until I played LotSB admittedly), Garrus, Legion, Mordin are by far my favourites.

Liking both Tali and Liara makes the romance choice quite difficult. Not yet managed to decide on who I really like better on that regard. But I find both their personalities excellent, they're smart, friendly, loyal, comedic at times and their personalities just work really well for me.

Garrus just kind of grew on me in the long run. That's the point I figure, and it worked. He's just a likable, good friend character for my Shepard(s) who I can always trust to cover my back and who I apparently still need to mentor around every now and then with his tendency to go a little too renegade for my liking.

Legion, mainly due to interest really. He makes some interesting remarks and for a Geth seems to have quite an interesting "personality". Still wondering if BioWare is going to expand on the fact Legion incorporated Shepard's armor which was a very irrational thing to do (Which is really odd of course)

Mordin, what can I say? He's my Salarian rolemodel in almost every way. Think I may be a little bit kinder than him, but in general I think he's just plain awesome and wish my Shepard could be more like him.

I love all the squadmates for various reasons, some less than others, so I'll list my favorite NPCs instead.

AETHYTA: Most badass asari matriarch ever. Wise AND hilarious.

LORIK: Smoothest turian to ever live.

KIRRAHE: You cannot deny that this salarian was a BAMF. He manages to be over-the-top corny and completely amazing at the same time.

TELA VASIR: She was a really fun character and great as an adversary.

NIHLUS: Sexiest five minutes of screen time ever.

SAREN: Utterly cheesy at times, but a great villain.

THE ILLUSIVE MAN: Too deviously evil to love, to craftily suave to hate. A master manipulator whom I enjoyed having as an ally and will relish as an adversary.

Wrex

Oh yeah, we've got an ancient, bad ass warrior krogan who actually wants to save his species.  Awesome.

Okeer

Oh yeah, ancient, bad ass scientist with a unique view on the genophage.  Awesome.

Space Hamster

Reference to Baldur's Gate?  Do want.

Ashley

Most realistic character in Mass Effect; she's one of my favorite characters, though the Horizon scene kind of knocked off a few points.

Kaidan

It's a pity I can't divide him from Carth in my mind.  But that's okay, because his boy's a Sith Lawd.  B)

Zaeed

He's like an older renegade Shepard; he and Shep are just a bunch of problem solvers, to quote the Boone.  :wizard:

Kasumi

She's a very fun character to have around; very likable personality.  Oh, and she brings her own bar.  <3

Jacob

We don't need the Citadel for drinks, we've got a bar, and the bartender totally digs you bro.

Mordin

It's Mordin.

Dr. Bastilla's Mom

Admiral Hackett

Udina

Salarian Councilor

Refund Guy

Liara's Dad

Grunt

Why not romance both Tali and Liara, you can romance Liara in one playthrough and Tali in another.

Although to be fair Legion did say that he had a hole in his armour

This is going to get long.

- I like Legion because DEM HEADFLAPS. I like its unintentional humour, its moral neutrality, it's interesting and has a unique perspective unmatched by any other character (except EDI). And while a lot of Legion's conversations are similar to the other aliens' "I am the talking codex about my species", Legion literally is the geth, and the geth are Legion. So it's both an insight into the 'race' and the character.

- I like Samara because I find her fascinating. She's controlled and calm, but she still has all the emotions buried underneath. Her asari perspective is also an interesting counterpoint to ME1 Liara's. She's also very friendly towards Shepard and I like hearing her stories.

- Jack's stories about her past and interesting, and I like how she develops (especially in the romance). She can also be rather funny.

- Wrex's stories are also interesting, and I like that although his morality is quite ruthless, he's genuinely trying to make a better future for the krogan. The change between his ME1 attitude towards it and his ME2 role was interesting. He's also one of the most level-headed krogan I've seen, and hilarious.

-Kasumi is funny and quirky, and genuinely seems to care about the other crew members from her comments. I also like that she calls Shepard 'Shep'.

-Ashley is a very normal character in contrast to the others, but I find her stories about her family fascinating, as though I actually know the characters. I also like that she's very tough and practical, but she has a sensitive side too.

-I like Mordin because of the humour, the incessant talking, and the fact that his heart is in the right place. He's sometimes ruthless in order to protect people, and though he's quite confident that it's the right decision, it doesn't stop him from feeling the pain it might cause. He also has a delightful singing voice. More singing Mordin in ME3!

-I also like Garrus and Tali, more so in ME2, because they are less like the stick-in-the-mud and the quarian codex. They're funny, touching, and they truly feel like Shepard's old friends.

-I'll not post any more, but I also love Joker and EDI. Joker's hilarious, and I love his banter with EDI, whilst EDI is also amusing and I love reading its perspective (similar to my interest in Legion's), especially once the Normandy becomes EDI's 'body'. I also love my Combat Drone. It's so cute. It's best friends with Chiktikka and Legion's drone.

Although I like the majority of them (except Kaidan/Ashley), Thane is really the only one to have me love struck. I find him to be such a compelling character- I like his seriousness, how hes so proper, religious, mellow, sensitive, loving.. and the fact that he's a dad is also awesome.

Oh I will. I definitely will. Question is who I import first.
Plus I got to scramble the time together to get two perfect playthroughs again. I already have a lot of 'perfect' ones (my image of perfect, which includes quite a bit of 'realistic failure' from my standpoint) but those are so old I owe it to myself to play through the games again.

As for Legion, well.. it is illogical. You should look up the conversation in question, it's a lot more amazing than people realize. Legion could have easily repaired it with something else, the fact that he purposely went out to get a part of Shepard's armor means he did a very irrational decision which is really odd considering what he is. I really hope they expand upon it, because he should by all means not have done that.

---------------------

In regards to non-companion characters;

The Illusive Man: An adversary that isn't plain dumb for once. Gladly have him as both an ally and nemesis at the same time. Deviously sinister and evil, and I love him for it. I actually found it really hard arguing with his 'questionable' actions against Shepard in Mass Effect 2 and although I bear little love for Cerberus as a whole, they have one hell of a leader.

Kirrahe: Who can't remember this example of a Salarian. He'll damn well hold the line.

Joker: Like Garrus, someone that just grew on me. Even though sometimes his remarks are just plain idiocy, they are almost always awesome and is one of the few people you can really trust around the galaxy.

Nihlus: He shouldn't have worked on his own though.

Shiala: Not much to say here. Lets just say, in Mass Effect 2, I did not mind that shade of green at all.

Kal'Reegar: As long as he doesn't start making any advances on Tali I think he's a prime candidate to be an awesome pal for my Shepard.

I like the human characters.

The alien characters all seem to be pigeon-holed into the roles reserved for their various races.

The humans have much more range, depth and subtlety, imo.

On that note, has the bartender (Aethyta) ever been confirmed or denied to be Liara's father?
(With the whole 'watching her picture' deal)

I like them all to varying degrees, but my favourites would have to be -

ME1:
- Ash
- Kaidan
- Wrex

ME2:

- Jack
- Samara
- Kasumi
- Liara (still creeps the sh*t out of me, though)
- Tali

Don't feel like giving reasons. Also, I like Thane as a conversational partner, but I found that his cliché storm personality (and general Sueishness) and power redundancy stopped me from enjoying him as much as I would have. Still like him a great deal, though. I like Garrus as well, but he's still eh tier, as I never found him all too compelling.

As for NPCs, Aethyta wins bar none. EDI follows close behind, though.
