depends on which Shep I'm playing...

on my two "canon" Sheps, I'll roll Team Dextro most of the time, usually alternating Garrus with someone else if the mission "requires" it...although Garrus is my ammo power giver on my Adept (assuming I don't stick with Warp Ammo)

it depends on other playthroughs, though...and I have too many Sheps to list them all...

however I see myself bringing Prothy a lot....Vega seems interesting, too....and EDI....hell, they're all pretty cool...but I dunno if this is going to be like in ME1 where I pretty much stuck to my favorites (Team Dextro with a side of Wrex) or ME2, where my squad was heavily dependent on who I was facing during the mission (Samara/Thane vs Collectors, Tali/Legion vs Geth, etc.)

Liara will probably be with me every mission possible, but I'll alternate the other position out to get a taste of everyone.  If I had to chose just one other though it would be Garrus.

My first run in ME1, Ashley an Wrex were permanent fixtures on my squad. I didn't realise how awesome everyone else was until a playthrough where Kaidan lived. From then on it was:

Biotic Bruisers: Wrex/Shep (canon vanguard)/Kaidan or Liara
Team Carnage: Wrex/Shepard/Ashley or Tali
The Techsperts: Kaidan/Shepard/Tali

...Never really used Garrus.

And yes, I named my teams. IDGAF.

In ME2, Jack was pretty much grafted to me at the hip, so it was often her plus someone else (often Samara/Tali/Kasumi) on my first go. After the initial run, I tried to diversify a bit, so I used Miranda to warp bomb people. A lot.

Only ones I've never used with any frequency are Thane (redundant powers), Jacob (same), Garrus (dies too much, steals cover, power redundancy), and Legion (too late in the game). I've been trying to fix that as of late, however.

In ME3, I imagine it's going to be:

VS (Ash, for initial import)/Liara or Tali for most of the game.

Garrus and Liara (LI) in my canon (Vanguard) and other playthroughs. I guess the rest depends on what class I am but mostly those two.

I always enjoy mixing them up. I enjoy the variety. That said, I'm going to have a preference for Garrus in my squad. Simply because...well....he's Garrus.

Only time will tell, I'm just following a little tradition of going into the final battle with at least Garrus.

Everyone. I can't use the same squadmates for an entire game in any RPG. I'm always swapping people in and out.

I usually use everyone from time to time. But for the most part it is,
ME1 - Garrus + Tali
ME2 - Garrus + Tali
ME3 - Garrus + Tali
I am starting to notice a pattern here.

I rotate characters in and out of my squad and use them all for different missions. Always using two particular squad mates while everyone else spends the entire game on the ship, makes little sense, as far as the story goes.

Garrus and Thane are both pretty squishy, but they both come with defense stripping abilities and, if you give them Incisor sniper rifles, get the upgrades and level up their passive abilities, they're insanely overpowered sometimes.

At the beginning of the part of the Collector ship with the rotating platforms, on Insanity, my strategy was to have Thane heavy warp the Collector on the left so I could heavy charge him off the platform and into the abyss. I was able to do that safely because Garrus and Thane were so powerful that they had nearly killed the middle Collector by then with their snipers. Then I just sprayed the last guy with my machine pistol and had Garrus and Thane use Concussive Shot and Throw so he'd fall off the platform right as Harbinger was assuming control. It was epic.

Then I found 5 dollars.

(I don't remember Legion's powers because I haven't gotten him yet, and the last complete playthrough I did was about two years ago, but I assume he's powerful since he can use the Widow.)

Legion and Tali have identical powers apart from bonus (Tali gets to shield strip and refill her shields, Legion gets to temporarily boost his shields).

Legion with Widow is a boss.

Oh sure! Why not? It's very likely one of my Shepards will enjoy some vigorous sparring with him.

Ashley and Garrus. My Shep is based on the marketing Shep, so I am gladly bringing my ME1 best pals back.

For my first playthrough i'll probably end up doing Male Shep with Ashley and Garrus. I'll mix it up after the first playthrough and try different combos.
