or
Liara and Ashley.
I rarely ever used the others, unless there was no choice.

(This might change though depending on the temp squad mates for some missions)

Yeah, I hear Garrus is supposed to be awesome on insanity, but he dies so frequently that I usually lose patience and give up on him after a couple of missions. Thane...I think I've used him four times, max, in six perfect runs. I use Miranda (despite how retarded her AI can be) for warping, and I prefer the squad bonuses she has as her passive ability. His sniping would be useful, but my recent runs have vanguards specialising in snipers instead of ARs, and Legion's Widow is superior anyway. And besides that, my play style emphasises close range, biotically aggressive, high DPS assaults, so a team like Mattock Samara (who debuffs with reave - as do I) and geth shotgun Jack (who saves my arse many a time when I charge stupidly) are my ideal..or basically everyone who does shotguns and close combat (minus Jacob).Garrus and Thane are both pretty squishy, but they both come with defense stripping abilities and, if you give them Incisor sniper rifles, get the upgrades and level up their passive abilities, they're insanely overpowered sometimes.
I'm going to try to use Thane and Garrus more, though. I almost gave up on Vakarian permanently after he ran in front of my line of fire so he could push me out of cover, which caused me to accidentally blow all of us up with the Cain.
I was done after that.

I usually use everyone from time to time. But for the most part it is,
ME1 - Garrus + Tali
ME2 - Garrus + Tali
ME3 - Garrus + Tali
I am starting to notice a pattern here.
Really? what a coinsidense so was I!

Vega, until I get spoiler 1, until I get spoiler 2. And then mix them up from then on. Final "boss", whatever it may be, will likely be Garrus/Tali or Garrus/Liara for some sort of POWER OF FRIENDSHIP message.

Though I most certainly want a Krogan on my team, when available.

Agreed. My favorite squadmates that I fell in love with in ME1 (not just Kaidan) were nothing but brief encounters. I'm sorry for anyone that has to suffer that kind of bleak game experience. That's a fundamental problem with introducing so many squadmates, when/if you have no intention of bringing them back. Inevitably, one fanbase or another is going to end up disappointed.

On my primary soldier shep (revy user) she is going obviously use the revy, and I will use one squad member that excels in using the widow, and another who excels in using the claymore. Revy, widow, and claymore.
I call that team FIREPOWER 2000.
As you probably guessed, in ME2, I used grunt and legion.

I guess, but supposably we have six squadmembers, four of which we've already had in past games. In ME2 we had like 12, 2 of which were in previous games. Even then we had a larger pool and the likelihood of liking one was much higher.Complistic wrote...

I cannot get over how stupid Vega looks. Did they model him after someone with down syndrome? On top of that I've never been too big of a fan of Liara, Tali, or Garrus.
