I'm going bastion on my adept. Got stasis but when foes are trapped by stasis I can't damage them by shooting at them. I checked their health bar before and after using stasis and there's no difference! Is this intended for ME1 only?

Yep, this is ME1-only feature.

You know about the fall of death, though, OP? Attacking enemies just as they come out of Stasis inflicts very heavy damage.

Just wanted to point out that since stasis bypasses all defenses, it can be a really good way to get up close on hard targets like YMIR mechs. Keeping them popping in and out of stasis may seem a bit cheap, but is a really quick and safe way to deal with them. As a general use power it is somewhat limited; but for boss-type characters, it can be really strong (e.g. Horizon tower defense gets much easier)

^Stasis also instakills those flying drones that only have shields as health. Much better than the 2-3 Overloads or the ammo they'd take otherwise.

If it's any condolence, Mass Effect 3 seems to be reintegrating this old stasis ability, either as a baseline feature of Stasis or one that is allowed or augmented through one of its higher evolutions. For now, you'll have to stick with your ~4x damage bonus while enemies are coming out of stasis in ME2. A perfect way to finish off YMIRs or the final boss.
