If it is kryptonite, keep carrying it around and we can see if Cancer or Darkspawn Taint can kill a Grey Warden first.

Well, the Circle of Magi would be more then happy to run a few tests to check for Kryptonite presence...

Since it came from the meteorite that carried "Superman" to Ferelden, I doubt it is actually Kryptonite since that would pretty much kill infant "Superman" right there and then?

Nobody ever said kryptonians were good parents.

Wait, Kryptonite doesn't kill Superman. Things made of Kryptonite negate Superman's powers, i.e. his speed, strength, and indestructibility. So yes, a sword made from Kryptonite could kill him.Posted Image

Wasn't there Kryptonite around when he fell to earth?

Yeah, but as I recall he came down in his ship during a meteor shower. The additional meterorites carried kryptonite; the ship that carried infant Superman didn't.

It is most likely that Starfang is made out of the same material as the ship itself, maybe broken loose during the crash?

Dunno. Long time since I was a comic-reading kid; my Superman lore isn't what it used to be! :D

Starmetal is not green - it is blue.

Doesn't Blue Kryptonite makes Superman God?

superman had no problems with kryptonite as a baby, he developed a deathly allergy to it after growing up on earth.... i never saw a solid explanation as to WHY that is though.

I think the fact that they blew up their homeworld is a sign that they pretty much failed as a race as a whole, not only as parents.

I thought that Krypton was mainly from kryptonite, and thus he gets back to being mortal.

In that case, kryptonite is a probable material for the sword.

Kryptonite is radioactive material that makes up the remains of Krypton after it exploded.

Material from Krypton itself isn't Kryptonite; Superman's ship made on Krypton was never harmful to him.

That said I doubt you could pull a chunk of ore from a space ship, and what you find is probably a radioactive piece of Krypton that coincidentally trailed the ship and landed nearby, thus lolkryptonite sword.

We also spend far too much time thinking about this.

Kryptonite was created from the material that made up the planet when it exploded, it's atomic structure was altered by said explosion. Green kryptonite, the most common, WILL kill Superman, via radiation poisoning, if he is exposed to it long enough. Blue Kryptonite will temporarily remove all his powers as long as he is exposed to it. Red Kryptonite has random properties, it can affect him in diffeerent ways, altering his personality, his powers, even giving him different powers than he had before. There are more rarer kinds (white, gold, silver, yellow, etc.) which all have different effects.

Then starfang ought to be blue kryptonite, thus superman would be utterly mortal in it's presence?
