He's a Turian, my favorite race and aside from this he's the one which I can relate myself the most.
Least Favorite: Grunt
Grunt really seems boring to me, he's just a mindless brute with almost no personality at all IMO. I don't find him appealing in any way.

Favourite: Zaeed. Fantastic VA and puts a different spin on BioWare's badass archetype.
Least favourite: Liara. Boring.
Amen to both.

Least - Probably Samara. ME1 Tali would have taken it but quite liked her in ME2 which was kind of odd. None of them were really bad though.

Wrex - he was this tough merc with this blunt sense of humor who had an interesting backstory, if you were willing to listen. It's awesome that if he lived, you really made him rethink how he's going to spend his days, and instead of doing nothing for his dying people he 180s becoming one of the most influential krogan on Tuchanka, but kept the humor.
Jack - I figured I would like her the moment she called me a p*ssy, and I was right. I was surprised with how much of a story and past Jack had. I love the female body, but I always preferred her alternate costume - I just didn't care for the single strap, especially when I found out how deep of a character she is...while it showed off her ink, the clothes themselves didn't do her justice.
Notable mentions: Kaidan for being my dedicated medic/biotic in ME1 (and perhaps in ME3)
-Thane and Samara for their intellectual/spiritual conversations
-Zaeed for being an unusual badass in the ME universe, and
-Jacob for being my ME2 bro I could depend on. I like Garrus also, to me he felt like the guy you were best friends with in high school with but moved away for a few years, and then recently came back changed - still a cool dude but I just didn't spend a lot of time with him.
Least Favorite:
Liara - There's just something boring about her once you get past the blue alien part. I can definitely see why people like her, but I could never get hooked to her character, she was too much of a good girl to Shepard. I did like the dialogue she had in LotSB, though. I'm fine with her in ME3; for all her faults, it's good to see her by my side again.

Liara, Jack, Ash, Miranda.
Maybe it's because they are romance options but i think they are more developed then many others.
Close seconds almost anyone else with a special spot for Mordin and Tali/Legion (togheter, I really like their banter/dialogues).
Least favorites... total indifference for Zaeed and "prizzzzeeee" man

However, the only one I dislike (and consequently never use) is Grunt. Jacob and Zaeed aren't great, either, but still miles above Grunt...

Least Favorites: Jacob and Ashley
-Zaeed is just that "Hardened Veteran With A Chip On His Shoulder And Nothing To Prove" and I'm just waiting for Bioware to give Robin Sachs a line in Mass Effect 3 where he can go "Clever Girl" like in Jurassic Park.
-Kasumi just gives you that feeling that she's there for the fun of it. I mean, a ton of squadmates are there by some type of obligation (they work for Cerberus, bound to Shepard, TIM purchased their services, etc) but Kasumi is different. It's pretty much "I'm here to help, no cost. And if you find some time, here is how you could thank me."
-Jacob just didn't do anything for me. I'd enjoy spilling a few drinks with him on the Citadel, having a good time. But beyond that, he's just... Stale. Old-Fashioned. His day probably consists of working out. Drinking. And reminiscing about old times, despite the fact that he's not even that old.
-Ashley Williams. Pushy. The least tolerant squad member of the series. The Penchant for Poetry does nothing for me. And the only reason she survived Virmire is because I needed to ensure that I still had a "Hate Anchor", someone I knew I could rely on to make me hate them, for the future games. She didn't disappoint in her Mass Effect 2 appearance. Mass Effect 3 has me skeptical.

I hate to join the pile on, but my least favorite is Jacob. I don't dislike the characters, I just find every other squad mate more interesting. Jacob can also be a little standoffish when he's out of dialogue, unlike most of the other squaddies, who at least pretend to be busy with 'calibrations.' That doesn't do him any favors.
Favorite LI: If we include both games AND DLC content, definitely Liara. With LotSB she has the best written romance.
Honorable mention: Kasumi was an awesome DLC character. Great dialogue and mission, and she's boss in combat.
Dishonorable mention: Morinth. I've killed in her every playthrough, so I can't really comment on how interesting of a squad mate she'd be. I do think she's interesting in an evil, 'can't wait to turn her into a bullet sponge' kind of way. Sort of like Saren.

Jacob - because of that huge pole up his butt. And yes his body is as deformed and unbelievable as Miranda's - he'd topple over in a stiff wind.

Favorite is Garrus, in a non-LI sort of way. In fact I still can't believe they made my brother from a Cassowary mother romanceable. I hope none of you are that romanced him are chicken farmers. *shudders*
And I have hypothesized that it is in fact this quality of mine that draws me to such characters.

Those that think the character is intolerant, fall into one of two camps, or are in both.
1. Those that think she's a religious fundamentalist.
2. Those that think she hates aliens.
The problem is that neither is really true.
Ashley believes in a higher power, but she never expresses any intolerance towards atheists or agnostics, or those who have a belief in a different higher power. She doesn't even specify what particular version of 'God' she believes in. Simply believing in God or Gods does not make one a zealot. In fact it puts her in line with probably about 75% of humanity.
She also isn't speciest. (or racist, if you prefer)
She has one offensive line where she states that she 'can't tell the aliens from the animals.' This line is bugged and was actually meant to be said in reference to the Keepers, who thanks to the Reapers, are little more than animals. If you bring Ashley along to meat the Terra Firma party she will respond angrily to their ranting, and makes it clear that she thinks they are bigots and an embarrasment to humanity. She's also extremely hostile to the very pro-human Cerberus (as we all know), and will tell Tali in an elevator conversation that she hopes Tali's contribution will mean that people will have a less bigoted view of Quarians.
In short, Ashley is neither a fundie or a racist. Allegations that she is amount to nothing more than typical BSN overreaction.

Thane for obvious reasons. I think he brings my Shepard peace and she needs that in her chaotic life. Kaidan because he balances out my renegade Shepard, I like him because he disagrees with everything I do. Ashley because she does the same thing for my Shepard as Kaidan and because she speaks her mind. Jack because she is crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside. And Garrus--well, because he is my partner in crime. Kasumi for the same reason as Garrus. Mordin because he cracks me up.
Least favorites:
Grunt: He annoys me and his arms bother me.
Liara: The whole relationship whether friendship or romance feels forced and …uncomfortable. It’s like every time I see her I want to roll my eyes and say, “Jesus Christ, not her again.” That being said, I don’t hate her. I just don’t like her.
