I always look at these threads with amusement as people completely ignore the OP's request. It has turned from an ask for your favorite and least favorite squad mates into people posting lists and dissertations on each one.

Funny how people follow directions!

Most favourite: This is a tough one. I would have to say it's either Garrus or Thane. I like Garrus, because he went from C-Sec officer 'by the book' to a rebel fighting for justice. And the fact that he's such a loyal friend to Shepard gives his character more significance, story-wise.
Thane is also a very interesting character. I'm rather curious as to see how and if in ME3 they will highlight the relationship between the Hanar and the Drell a bit more, or at least give the Hanar the screentime I desperately long for.

Least favourite: Jacob, by far. The dull **** still owes me a drink for saving his (note:) firm buttocks. His behind might actually be his most notable attribute and I guess his lips are nicely shaped too. Also, nothing wrong with the abs. Okay, the guy's hot!

Least favorite? Liara or Tali (from ME1; their ME2 versions/characters were much better), or Thane.

My favorite team mate is probably Ashley just because of the LI. But for combat? Probably Jacob or Garrus.

Least favourite - Hard to decide between Zaeed and Jacob... I'd probably go with Jacob, since they're both slightly annoying but I think that Jacob is also rather dull.

Favourite: Garrus and after that very closely Wrex and Mordin. Honourable mention for Thane, because I don't see him mentioned alot, but I really like him.

Least favourite: Jacob, Ashley, Kaidan and Miranda, in that order. Somehow they managed to screw up the 2 main human characters in the first game and make the exact same mistake in the second one.

Jacob is a nice guy, most of the time, but he can be really mean (ex.: against Tali and Thane). Apart from that he is really dull. Exact same mistake for Kaidan, although to a lesser extent. Kaidan seems okay and we agree on almost everything, but he just lacks a strong personality.

For the two women it's the exact opposite. Strong personalities, but I just don't like them.
Ashley is one of the best developped charachters, but we disagree on everything and she can be a real **** against Liara (my LI) and other aliens. Apart from that I'm not really a fan of the tough chick. Miranda is just really snobby and acts all tough, but she atleast redeems herself later on in the game.

Favorites: Tali, Legion, Wrex, Garrus, Mordin. These 5 should be your crew. I think I would hang out with weird aliens over boring humans any day.

Meh: Thane (I would forget I even had him), Samara (better than Liara), Grunt (doesn't replace Wrex), Zaeed (his face is well animated), Kasumi (good in combat)

Least: Liara, Kaiden/Ashley, Miranda, Jacob, Jack
These people keep appearing in the least favorite categories. Glad I'm not alone. Lair of the Shadow Broker was excellent DLC but Liara's VA and sort of halting speech patterns irritate me. As for Ashley, I don't really like the implication that the religious character must naturally be a bigot as well. Plus, She is clearly not smart enough to be a Spectre: "Maybe Cerebrus is faking these colony abductions to fool you... even though it is obviously a crazy idea" Who would come up with such a stupid conspiracy theory? Jacob, Miranda, and Kaiden are just boring. Carth Onassi was the most boring character of KOTOR as well. Jack laid it on a little thick. Mass Effect doesn't have a good track record with its humans.

Never Used: Morinth. Even for a renegade Shepherd, choosing her over Samara is too sociopathic to make sense.
