I would like to start a petition to have bioware either remake mass effect 1 for ps3 or negotiate with microsoft to allow them to port mass effect 1 to ps3.  I am a bioware fan since the first kotor and I have loved the stories and ideas that bioware made but I own a ps3.  I see mass effect as a series that relies heavily on the mythos that started with the first game and for ps3 players of me2 and 3 not having mass effect 1 is going to ruin our own experiance playing this series.  Xbox and pc have mass effect 1 and due to this players on those mediums are able to craft a unique story that truly defines them.  The developers have stated that their is no canon in this universe and as such ps3 owners have alot they are missing as they cant develop the story from the begginning to suit their wishes.  I want to petion bioware to either port mass effect 1 so that way we can truly enjoy this universe that they made.

I will check a couple times every day to add signatures to those who support this and you are welcome to add comments to try to debate this idea but please lets keep it civil.  I don't want the mods closing this thread because we got argumenative and we weren't giving each other their due.

I support this, even though I don't think it would ever happen. It would give me an excuse to by the series for a third time. I already own ME and ME2 on PC and Xbox 360 with all the DLC on Xbox 360 except the appearance packs. So Bioware, if you like taking my money, then make this happen.

I have a 360 and a PS3, and Mass Effect 2 on both but I support this. However, I think the only way Sony would get it is if they gave a chunk of the profits to Microsoft, and I doubt Sony would ever agree to such a deal. It's a shame because those links to past games are one of the best aspects of the series.

I don't even own a PS3 and I support this as it really does hurt Mass Effect 2 in my opinion not having it completely fleshed out out by the first, and Genesis is no compensation.

However I can't see Microsoft being willing to give the 'exclusive' first game to their console rival.

I had thought on the idea and figured out a possible tactic to negotiate with microsoft although it relies on ea due to them owning bioware. I thought that maybe if the situation was reversed and applied to microsoft then they might agree like if they made a new series they make it a sony exclusive but would make xbox and pc versions if microsoft gave bioware the ability to make mass effect 1 for the ps3. I wouldn't care if it was digital or a disk version as long as it is attempted. I only want to know that bioware tried to negotiate with microsoft to try to get the game to ps3 owners and if the attempt failed then I would stop trying to make it happen. I just have seen no attempt and that is what drives me to action.

I'd sign this in a heartbeat. But I doubt it would happen. Microsoft is too damn money hungry. And no petition by fans is going to change that. Half the time they don't give a **** about their customers, even when they are throwing their money at them. You are asking them to do something out of the goodness of their hearts. Not likely.

I'm sure EA would be all for charging PS3 owners $60 dollars for a 3 year old game though.

Personally, I don't care, now, PS3 is my platform of choice, and yes, I own just about every version of ME1 and 2 on every platform. BUT, (and I guess I'm the minority here) I don't care for the little extra stuff that carries over from ME1 to 2, such as Gianna etc. I really don't think they affect my experience. That said, I will be picking up ME3 on PS3, and then PC. since I gave up on my 360.

I keep hearing about the fact that ea cant port me1 because it wont get permission to port me1 but doesn't need to have microsoft's permission to remake mass effect 1 as I saw that ninja gaiden 2 had a similar situation but was remade and ported to ps3. I figure either they have no plans or are waiting for the moment when they would maximize sales.

Microsoft didnt publish Ninja Gaiden, They only distributed it

I support this immensely. I want to play the whole series and would just buy them on pc, except it is incredibly difficult for me to get dlc on pc, its so much easier on ps3. I hope some kind of agreement can be made, i really want to play this series! :(

Although I'd love to see ME1 on PS3, I don't think it's absolutely necessary to enjoy ME2 and ME3. Personally, all I've got is a PS3, so I've been forced to live without ME1. What I've done to compensate is watch other peoples' ME1 playthroughs on youtube, watch plot synopses on youtube, and do a ton of reading on the ME wiki. I also have read all the comics and novels that have been published (except for Deception).

By the time I started up ME2 and used ME Genesis to make the most important decisions form ME1, I was very educated on everything that had happened in the first game, and was able to make informed decisions based on everything I had learned. I had an absolute blast with ME2 and I never once felt like I was missing out. I do realize that I was unable to make decisions regarding a lot of choices in the first game, and although this does affect my gaming experience to some degree, it's not a big deal for me. I'm getting just as much enjoyment out of the series as anybody.

Yep I would buy all three games for the ps3 if it was possible but I don't want to miss all the cool Me1 stuff and yet like a few here I' not really getting my hopes on this.

Never gonna happen. Maybe if sony lets microsoft bring Uncharted 1-3 onto xbox 360 which sony would never do and it would just turn into a pissing match (assuming execs negotiate like people on forums do lol)

This has been a long-standing request, so a new thread is unlikely to budge the corps on this I'm afraid.

Mass Effect (the original) was made by Microsoft, so of course they were pushing to have it on their platforms (PC and Xbox). Though it could theoretically be ported for PS3, not only would a deal have to be brokered between Sony and Microsoft (which I already can't see happening because they both love money more than their mommas), because it is a re-release of an old game they wouldn't get enough Release Day sales to consider it worth it.

It's a real shame, because there is a lot of detail in there for side quests that will be missed. At least they finally released that 'comic start' so your Shepard didn't always let the the Council DIE and then have EVERYONE HATE YOU. Pre-prologue that must have sucked.
Shame we can't do anything about cross-platform saves though, even though all consoles are capable of being (and expected to be) connected to the 'net.

100% support this! If it were a digital download like Crysis or a disc version. Doesn't matter. I would buy it day or guaranteed!

I really hope it happens for you PS3 players. ME1 is a huge part of the series, and I cannot imagine not playing ME1 before playing ME2/3. Lucky for me I'm a PC gamer and I have all 3, and whatever I can do to make ME1 for PS3 a reality for those of you whom wish to play it, I'll do it. Hell, ME1 was the foundation of this series and the ME universe, and if you haven't played it there's a LOT to look forward to, I promise!

I would sign this. I have it on my laptop but I always run into the chance of my computer shutting down, which makes it horrible. Plus I have the last two on my PS3 and would love to have the complete story instead of just the interactive comic.
