but she did have some serious  actors there to give her pointers and advance... and alot of experience  tap into ... if she had  any questions .

I pretty sure they had out pointers to the Rookiee.,

Seriously, casting someone because they're a fan is an awful reason to cast them.  She's not an actor but I'm sure that's "one of her passions that she's interested in exploring."  You can't call your games cinematic and then hire some barely famous scrub for a part.

Some of the character threads are pretty good at avoiding spoilers, actually.  Please don't dump spoilers on them before discovering what the prevailing policy is.

I say that because I used to look at Miranda, Tali and Garrus's threads mostly and some others ocasionally. Always enjoyed, always something going on etc. One day, a few days after the leak I took a look at Miranda's thread...and it was really traumatic. Good to me that I got outta there quickly and avoided looking at bigger stuff. Never came back to Mass Effect Character and Romance Discussion forums.

I hate to make any preconceptions but Jessica Chobot?...  Really?  

I thought all she did was an adequate job of IGN video reviews and to essentially look pretty while doing it.   Hardly what I would consider a Voice Actor to the standard of the rest of the ME cast.   


She may be better then I expect.  I still think its a poor choice based on some sort of marketing stunt but guess I will see in time. 

When you expect the worst the only way is up.  Or it meets your expectations of nothing

One can hope. But I do have to wonder how much interaction she had with the rest of the cast given BioWare's MO on voice recording. As I said, maybe she's great. I'm skeptical, to be honest, but I'll have no problem admitting I'm wrong if she blows my socks off. I still would have rather had Emily Wong, though, but that's just me.

I don't know if she'll be good or bad but she had no past voice acting experience and BioWare hired her anyway while ME2's best voice actor got dropped. Did she even have to audition?

I understand the concern, but listen to yourself. We haven't heard much of anything and people are being hard on her. Now I am not what anyone would call a fanboy of Jessica's or anything, but give her a chance. Heck there are people voicing characters in this game that probably have less experience than she does and I dont hear you talking about them...

I think she deserves it. Follow her career and you might understand better why she was chosen. I am sure BioWare doesn't just throw people in the booth and say "go".

Way to judge harshly.

I agree whole-heartedly. Not all of us are saying she's bad, some are merely skeptical of the motivation behind the choice and the skill she has, as compared to the rest of the cast. And, no offense to you, Good -er- Evil Sir, but 'it works' is not exactly a ringing endorsement. I'm willing to give it a shot, though. We'll see how she does when the game launches.
