She's a video game journalist, so it's not surprising. Still, the number of people that have indeed recognized her is telling, not least of which because we're all gamers.

Well, I'm not saying she's going to knock it out the park but at the same time you can't go around saying she'll suck, given we haven't even heard her yet. Right?

If you're correct then here's hoping her role isn't a big deal in the game. For me personally, I don't care enough to complain about a decision that has been made by people who know what they're doing. Have some faith!

I won't jump to conclusions, but unless you've been under a rock (gamign community-wise) both inside and outside of the ME IP, I would venture to say that Jessica Chobot should be at least a 75% household name in the gaming community as a whole. She's been a gaming poster girl for quite some time.

I'm not condemning her for her performance, I'm condemning Bioware for hiring someone with literally no acting experience whatsoever because she's purdy.

Not the face I imagined listening to her part in Sbarge's audioblogs. Definitely would like to see her recording.

She doesn't have a photo on IMDB.  There's another live action actress with the same name as her so people get confused.  But that comic con photo is like the only one I can find of the real Ashley Williams.

Wow, this was a really nice vid! The graphics are really awesome in this one, it seems BW has stepped up and really refined the graphics in ME3. Martin Sheen really is an awesome guy, haha!

I wonder what kind of part that new doll will have in the game.

Outside of Mass Effect, my issue with Chobot is that she has never struck me as genuine. It feels like she found a niche career in which she could have greater success that way than through traditional acting. However, it feels that her primary goal has always been acting.

In ME3, the problem is that they made the character look like her. And what I am seeing is suffering from some serious uncanny valley issues.

I'm exited about this news!  Chobot will put 100% into her role because shes like us. Anyone here would jump at the opportunity to be a VA for one of your favorite IPs, she just got that opportunities. I am kinda sad that we didn't get a full cast list maybe Chris can get that for us?

Indeed. The earliest copy of this text I could find is on GamingUpdate.com, but they don't reveal any source for that particular part either. So far anything not in the video hasn't appeared in any official statement yet.
