Yes, a tank top, just like Diana Allers.

And this is Allers full clothing. I have no problem with is since she's not military (That symbol is not the alliance military. It's the press) as long as she wears armor if she goes out in the field. Not a tank top btw

Things wrong with this:

1. Diana is a war-reporter for the alliance, not a toughened colonial marine.
2. Vasquez has no need for protection, she's doing a bug hunt. Diana is reporting during a reaper invasion which could possibly be the end of the universe, where's her combat armour to store the kinetic barriers/medigel etc? Oh that's right, in her bra.
3. Just because it's Sci Fi doesn't make it relevant here, it's a different "Universe" altogether.

I could go on but I'd rather go back into my tranquil state of mind before this post made me go LOLOmGSHerriouslyhepoOStedThat?

OK, if something like her attire really affects you that much it's your own problem, I was just showing you that onboard the Sulaco Pr.Vasquez wore a tank top, Diana, on board the Normandy wears a tank top, who is to say that on the battlefield she'll were the same thing?

"Doing a bug hunt" OK, if you want to put it like that, if it were only a "bug hunt" the wouldn't be bringing all that armour and weaponary.

@Nashikital

Really you've never seen someone wear anything that revealing? It is barely revealing at all it shows some cleavage but not much more than some tank tops and even dresses. The outfit looks a bit latexy but I put that up to ME graphics engine. There aren't many girls who would have that type of outfit on casually but in the summer many women will wear some outfits that is just as revealing or perhaps more than that. Especially depending on the places you go to it isn't rare at all.

Wow you're actually being serious? She won't be on the battlefield reporting "apparently" but I doubt she will still turn up, still an alliance news reporter not wearing combat armour in a situation where the entire universe is a battlefield is idiotic.

And yeah that's how Aliens 2 called it, "a bug hunt" to see if there were survivors or a Xenomorph infestation (of course The company knew all along).Where any of them supposed to survive, or be incubated? This is a discussion for another time and place as I said before; different universe, different relevance.

Besides what armour is going to protect you against a Xenomorph, let alone it's blood?

James Vega is wearing a tight fitting top, on board the Normandy, Shepard, is also wearing casual clothes on the Normandy, that's my whole point, they are on the Normandy.

Now, if I saw a screenshot were Diana was wearing that attire outside the safety of the Normandy that would be different.

Vasquez, tank top on the Sulaco, armoured up when investigating LV-426, Diana Allers, tank top on board the Normandy, have yet to see her off the Normandy so I can't judge yet.

You think that screenshot with her standing infront of all those posters of possible missing people is on the Normandy?

I'm not crazy about reporters in general, so my first inclination would be to kick her off of the ship.  BW does a fantastic job with characters, so I'm willing to give her a shot.  One shot.

And in regards to how professional women in the military dress while off duty, does anyone happen to remember a tv show called "Battlestar Galatica"?  Very few of the females on that show wore anything that didn't make the males turn their heads.  I'm not at all embracing her apparel (she immediately turns me off), but I just want to remind folks that this isn't unprecedented.  Makes me kind of wonder what Ms. Allers wore to her job interview, though.

Oh, nice, we're back at the 'smart female character can't be attractive' nonsense again.

Strawman. No one said that, not even close.

Although I have to say, there is more to being sexy than boobs and skimpy clothes. Lots more. TONS more actually.

Oh there is really lets see Ashley has a new look and you and your kind freak out because its sexy and good looking . Jessica Chobot is a fine looking woman who is smart and she does her job very well .  Oh we are back to smart female characters can't be attractive . Its the same oversexualized horse crap .  you and your kind took away player choice as far as what ashley can wear in 3 . I be dammed if I sit back and watch this same group dictate their rules and views on the rest of Mass Effect 3 fans . who have no freaking issue with how Jessica's character is .

Actually I freaked out about ashley because...

1. I didn't find it sexy at all.

2. It didn't fit her character at all.

Despite your insistence to assume I hate all things sexy, and I want the world to be droll or whatever drivel you keep convincing yourself of, I don't.

I have no idea why people keep thinking we don't want smart and hot chicks. THAT IS NOT WHAT WE HAVE BEEN SAYING. EVER. I don't know why you can't get that in your head.

I don't know about others, but I am arguing because I find these new "looks" to not fit the setting and the situation, and because of the reasoning behind them. I thought ashley was sexy long before they thought she needed a "makeover," and the way a hardlined no-nonsense soldier like ashley is would never dress like that on the battlefield, and she sure as hell would never let her hair down while in combat.

My issue with Jessica's character is not that she is too attractive, but THAT I DON"T FIND THAT DRESS SEXY AT ALL, rather I find the thing insulting and honestly I find the fact that you think bioware can't do better insulting to both you, and bioware.

Actually on battlestar galactica it fit the setting. Starbuck rarely wore anything outside of her dress uniform, or when off duty in her skivvies a tanktop. When she was in a fancy party while off duty, she would wear a stunning dress that would INDEED make heads turn, but when on duty at said party she would be wearing a suit practically. She was sexy, without being objectified or insulting those she represented, or the audience she was meant to appeal to.

That is the same with all other mlitary female in that show, and everyone else was a civilian who still wore the appropriate clothing for the situation, and everyone followed these basic internal logic guidelines. The exception being a certain well known cylon who was seducing a certain important character on the ship, who didn't follow the same rules as the other characters.

Its called internal consistency. You don't see any other alliance personel dressing skimpy, you don't see any other reporter dressing skimpy, (and I wonder why you would dress skimpy on a frontline combat vessel in the midst of a genocidal war, it seems a bit disrespectful to those fighting, and a distraction to those on the ship.)

Don't mind CerberusSoldier, he's a chauvanist wrapping himself in the flag of radical feminism.  He thought Ashley was ugly in Mass Effect and is now hot in ME3.

You know come to think of it I was actually fairly mild about this character until people started accusing things like that. It started as a mild dislike of the outfit, and now its turned into some righteous crusade or something.

I don't mean to be too insulting here, but have you guys ever gone outside? You don't need to compare her to other fictional characters on Aliens or Battlestar... tramps are all over the place. In real life! You know who else is all over the place? Tramps who think they are classy women, and try to act as if they are. I'm in Law School and I regularly see some of my classmates get tarted up to go to the library. THE LIRBARY! Do you think that's appropriate? Probably not. Does anyone stop them? No. Do they try to maintain some pretense that they are the pinaccle of lady-hood? Absolutely. I gaurentee this happens at every Law School across the nation ranked lower than #60, and probably some ranked higher as well.

I don't care if you don't find it attractive, the point is women wear slu*ty clothes. It happens. A lot. Most of the tramps in my lawbrary aren't attractive either. That doens't stop them. Is there some rule that states you have to like every character? No, there isn't. Personally, I hate Jack with a fiery passion. The only reason I didn't kill her intentionally every ME2 playthrough I had was simply because I wanted the "best ending" more than I hated her.

Get off Allers' back. Let her be the loose lady she is. I'm not saying it's true or even close to factual, but I wouldn't be surprised if her VA, Chobot, gets railed by 3 different dudes a week.  It wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Her personal life doesn't even remotely affect her ability as a newscaster.

Hey yeah great, quick question. Are any of those lovely women on board a naval vessel? Another quick question, how many of those women are on a naval vessel... IN A WAR ZONE.

My argument is based upon the time, the place, and situation. Not the average joe "****" people seem to keep mentioning.

Sorry I can't get any direct pictures, the new reporters are understandably focusing on their subject of interview.

You see, those who report directly on war are not dressed to gather attention. The topic of their report does that by itself. No they dress how they should in such a situation, respectfully, and they allow all the attention to focus on the interviewee themselves.

Another knock against your point is that ALL news reporters we have seen in the game have been OVER dressed if anything. Probably something to do with the fact that they are appealing to not only humans, but to the aliens who VASTLY outnumber the humans.
