Meh. Emily Wong's an investigative journalist, not an embedded war correspondent. Not the same kind of thing. Plus, you're assuming that she's not in ME3 at all, which *ahem* may not be the case.

An investigative reporter can be a war correspondent. Wasn’t Gene Sherman both? It would have been plausible and a great tie-in to have Emily Wong become a war correspondent and have her jump at the chance to work with Shepard--a man/woman she greatly respected. She was already a journalist that is familiar to the Mass Effect universe.

Playing devil's advocate, having it be Emily Wong would just exacerbate the "small galaxy" syndrome.

I agree with Didy and Daqs, you can't call this one down the middle yet because you don't know how big or small Emily Wong's part in the game is. Clearly she is a reporter on the Citadel, you wouldn't send Katy Couric to an active warzone on a submarine.

Perhaps, but I don’t see her being a catalyst to that. It’s quite different from knowing a popular, well-known journalist who already has ties with Shepard (and in both games), whom Shepard promised an exclusive to than to have a “what if” scenario of could Aria be the asari Wrex knows? Or the thing with Liara’s father. As I said, this is a character that has an established reason to be doing what she is doing.

How so? The small galaxy syndrome arises by contrived coincidence which is anything but a coincidence. Gianna and Shiala fit that as does Nassana. If Emily is assigned to the Normandy to be a war correspondent I don't see how that is contrived. It makes sense that she'd be there since she's already met Shepard who will be on the ship.

I don't think she works for the Alliance News Network. She seemed to be working for a Citadel based network (listed as Future Content Corporation on the wikia). I think the ANN would be in a better position to add an imbeded reporter on an Alliance ship, than a Citadel based network.

Diana and Vega look like something out of Jersey Shore.

Bioware is really, really pushing it. I'm pretty sure they'd start selling body pillows with characters on them if they thought it would bring them a few more desperate lonely gamers. The pandering. It hurts.

They'd probably make a mint with a Tali body pillow! Just imagine the videos on youtube made by Talimancers!

Wait, is this solely on the basis of Jessica Chobot being in the game?

They get an all star Hollywood cast, but one internet cellebrity, who most people outside of the states probably don't know (I didn't), with a probably not that big a part is the straw?

I didn't like the idea of Jessica Chobot being in Mass Effect 3, but now that I've read some people say that she will be a romance interest, I really feel it's a bad idea. I probably would have overlooked it had she been a minor character like all the other reporters in Mass Effect, but does anyone know for sure if her role will be big as some people have suggested. I don't want to overrate without knowing for sure.

Diana is actually a pretty bland/boring character. I wish the writers had of been brave enough to keep Morinth around. She was a strong female character had a good backstory and would of been interesting to see move through the storylines of Mass Effect 3.
