Heres hoping she does that in the game.
To Vega.

Well we don't know what she'll do. But what you're saying though is you'll go ahead a form an opinion, even a preliminary one because the physical appearace stands out?HolyJellyfish wrote...
I dunno. So far all the support NPCs have contributed to the game in one way or the other, be it ambiance or allusions.
She kind of stands out. I mean. First questioned I asked was '...Why is snooki in my game?'
And then I heard other people say 'OH! Its that one hot chick from IGN!'
which doesn't add anything. Really.

She might not need to personally be in the field. She may have a robotic gizmo that follows Shepard. Kind of like the Mk II in MGS4.
I like Yakko's ideas. I should look more into embedded journalism. She does have the potential to be an interesting character.
There was never a "screw you" in there. I was just trying to figure out what the hell kind of angle BW was going for.1136342t54 wrote...
BSN is so awesome.
"Wait a minute. You hired a voice actor from IGN! SCREW YOU!!!"
"Wait is she scratching her ass crack and smelling it? Bioware she's a keeper."

Actually, scratching her asscrack and smelling it made me respect Chobot a little more.
It's hard to be a girl and do gross humor.

I think its a great idea. A reporter recording Shepard's story so that the Alliance and Council can finally pull their heads out of their asses? Sounds good to me.
Plus, I'd rather have a character that looks unique (and makes sense for her role in the story) than a character that just wears [generic female NPC outfit 14].
And she obviously doesn't have to follow SR2 protocol clothing wise. Its not like she's a combatant.

But seriously, you have no idea how hard it is to tell fart jokes when you're the only girl in the room.

I'm not sure. Playing yourself doesn't mean you are there in your entirety. And it's not necessarily something to be sneered at either. Look at Danny Trejo. Won't exactly be playing Hamlet anytime soon. But that man was the real deal (Mexican criminal) before he came to the screen. Now he plays mexican criminals in films. Is it the height of the dramatic arts? No. Is it believable and fun to watch? Sure.HolyJellyfish wrote...
Nope. Never suggested I was that shallow.
I'm forming an opinion because her physical appearance specifically stands out since Diana's physical, professional, and possibly even emotional character is modelled after the person who voices her.
Jessica might as well be in the game. Who needs a render?
That's what stands out. And that's what's a little weird to me. SOunds like enough stuff to make an opinion on, right?

Here's what we know:
- She is an LI (hopefully with a full romance arc w/end scene and not just half stripping like Kelly)
- You can kick her off the ship if you so chose.

Point taken. I don't know the lady, but I give her respect points for that.
And BSN is no different than any other forum. Though, there are more women, and it is a nice breath of fresh air to see a strong S/S community. You definitely see more opinions clash, but that's refreshing to me. I think these discussions are healthy.

But she's emebedded in the military. Meaning she has some rules she has to follow. She can't just do or wear what ever she feels like because she's not in the military. The fact that she's non combat person and with the military it means they're responsible for her and she has to stay within the guidelines they lay out for her otherwise she wouldn't get a spot on the ship. That's how it works in the real world and I can not imagine Hacket or Anderson giving her the go-ahead to wear that dress on the Normandy.
In the order I got the info in. With the option to kick her off at least we won't have to deal with the "why are they forcing her on me" whining.Zkyire wrote...

No BSN can be more annoying than a few other forums I visit. I won't say its the worse but I wouldn't say its just like anyother forum in level of sanity.

Soldiers also shouldn't be running around wearing thigh high heeled boots (MIranda / Samara).
Suspension of belief. Until Bioware hires more female writers and designers, and these discussions can create more appropriate wear (ALA Deus Ex, Skyrim, Uncharted, etc.)

I don't know. Most other gaming Forums I've gone to aren't very welcoming to me because they cater to a very specific demograph.

Also I don't think you can assume Diana and Jessica are the same professionally. Jessica talks video games on the internet. Diana is supposed to be qualified to go into warzones, keep her wits about her, survive and still get a scoop. Not at all similar. Besides Jess is loosely an "anchor" type journalist while Diana is in the field. Does not align (at least not perfectly).
