Yeah because Mass Effect fans just love the West Wing enough to crave Martin Sheen.
Haha.
Actually - The West Wing was fantastic. I loved it.
As did I, but I'm a political junkie so that show was designed for me. What I'm getting at is Martin Sheen and Jennifer Hale have way more in their resume than just one thing. This person just have a website which gamers fawn over. How did you think people would react? My main concern is the character design, I visually can't respect her as a journalist, she seems too impractical.
No I don't disagree with you at all.
But I remember a loud rally at our government house steps in my home city. There was a reporter there, and before filming she spent about ten minutes smoothing out her figure hugging black skirt and she had a tight blouse with enough buttons undone to reveal a good bit of cleavage. She then proceeded to spend about five minutes with the largest can of hair spray I have ever seen making sure her long hair was flowing down all around her shoulders and did not budge. Then once completed - she started reporting.
I watched her for so long because I was about 15 and this was the highlight of my day.
Anyway my point is - I think visually there is nothing wrong with her journalistic look - her ability to act and report on deep, soul shattering reports is what I would like to see.
Regardless - Emily wong wore a dress with a cleavage hole in it my memory didn't she?
Chobot looks like shes wearing an Adidas running dress.
That's covering a political story, very different context. I have family that works on K street, and there image really is everything. That being said, she's in a war zone, the dress is impractical and laughable. Its a shame because I think the idea is kind of cool.
In the first shot I saw, I thought, "Oh, she's wearing a tank top, probably some bdu's or some track pants to fit in with the soldiers on the ship, sounds cool." Now she jsut looks like someone on fox news who's dressed up to look attractive rather than practical and serious about her work.
It would've been cool the have a Lara Logan

What you wrote says that women are beholden to men for their protection. That's sexist.
alright, believe what you want. debating on forums is pointless
You wrotei believe women shouldnt serve in the military, because it is a man's job to protect women
What does that say?
it's a man job to protect women, but im not going to start a debate that gets this thread locked.

Diana isn't walking around in the field with Shepard. She's on the ship, probably interviewing him, watching footage of him fight, etc. She doesn't need to walk around with body armor on. Hell, she's a reporter, right? Then she probably has the alliance issued kinetic barrier for the occasions when she DOES go into combat.
Logan doesn't walk around with kevlar on unless she needs to.
Christ on high, why am I even arguing with you people? So many basement dwellers who view the rest of the world through a lens...

That's great that your girlfriend is pursing a career in a non-traditional field, and I'm sure she's lucky to have you, but seriously, dude, there'd be more women in the army if you guys didn't feel the need to hold our hands (and if enough of us stopped expecting our hands to be held; it's a two-way street).

I was raised the same way, my Tae Kwon Do teacher (and later master) beat that out of me. I now respect women's ability to carry their own.
That's not to say I won't offer my aid, but it won't be because they need my protection, it would be because everyone deserves an offer of my protection. Equality of opportunities, not outcomes. Its hard to argue that your being cheuvanistic and you are certainly maintaining your personal morals, honor and integrity.

This is completely off-topic and this post will probably go unnoticed but I just realized something Bioware FINALLY did - a problem which I've noticed since KOTOR:
They finally have models heads freakin' attached to the bodies. Before, there was a separate head and body so when rendered in game, it would just be a matter of attaching the two. Simple right? Unfortunately, this meant that the head model and body would receive different lights resulting in the seam between the base of the neck and the shoulders look really obvious. To combat this, designers typically put in a neck piece. Miranda's black choker, t-shirts with high collars, Thane and Samara's metal necklace thing...I can only recall Jacob not having one for his romance scene in ME2 and even then...it was pretty noticeable. During ALL of the nude scenes in ME1, the camera conveniently showed from the NECK up rather then the typical shoulders.Dragon Age always had collars and KOTOR also always had obscenely high collars.
So yeah. Very happy to see that. Though I just realized they did it with Ashley's uniform. But here it's more pronounced.
Wow. I'm such a nerd. >_<

Actually you can't make assumptions. The future in which ME revolves around is COMPLETELY different from modern day, both in political forces, technology, medicine, weapons, alliances, capablities, etc.
Oh, and there aren't bullets "flying around". You're just babbling to hear yourself babble.
Neither are you, but again we can draw parallels from modern day.
See above.
Neither can you, but given what we've seen on Mass Effect ladies in the past, it's not hard to guess.
Okay, you go ahead and guess, and I'll TAKE your advice and look at a *seemingly similar outfit within the ME universe: femshep's dress. It was a modest one piece leather dress (non-skin tight) that went to about two to three inches above her knees: the kind of dress I'd expect a politician to wear at a convention.
But I'm gonna guess that you'll make up some comment about how it was ****ty and made femshep look like a **** pandering for a buck, so we'll just have to leave this alone.
What's fashionable in the 22nd century is entirely determined by the concept artists, and they don't exactly have a Tardis or a crystal ball.
Okay... so... what? Because while Miranda and Samara were dressed in skimpy outfits, the other REPORTERS in the ME universe were dressed in LONG MODEST DRESSES.
Are you finished?

I'm sure Ashley could've given her some BDUs and a spare T-shirt until they dock and she can get her own things. Since we've got two shots of her, and one that appears to be in her room or work station wearing the same outfit I'm thinking she wears it for the duration of the game.
