... I still have no idea who this woman is.
This is completely off-topic and this post will probably go unnoticed but I just realized something Bioware FINALLY did - a problem which I've noticed since KOTOR:
They finally have models heads freakin' attached to the bodies. Before, there was a separate head and body so when rendered in game, it would just be a matter of attaching the two. Simple right? Unfortunately, this meant that the head model and body would receive different lights resulting in the seam between the base of the neck and the shoulders look really obvious. To combat this, designers typically put in a neck piece. Miranda's black choker, t-shirts with high collars, Thane and Samara's metal necklace thing...I can only recall Jacob not having one for his romance scene in ME2 and even then...it was pretty noticeable. During ALL of the nude scenes in ME1, the camera conveniently showed from the NECK up rather then the typical shoulders.Dragon Age always had collars and KOTOR also always had obscenely high collars.
So yeah. Very happy to see that. Though I just realized they did it with Ashley's uniform. But here it's more pronounced.
Wow. I'm such a nerd. >_<

By the way, woman can hold their own just as much as men can, or even better. That can be said in any situation with ANY sex. I hate that macho bull****, but that's just me.

This is important because so far - with characters in ME3 there hasn't been a lot of respect for the reasoning.
EDI and Ashley, the only reasons that were given for the new design / re-design were they needed more sexy.
So I think its totally fair for people to be looking at Chobot with raised eyebrows. There hasn't been a lot of respect for female characters shown so far in ME3. It has been purely for visual reasons.
Before anyone replies with "ZOMG - I IZ GONNA CANCEL ORDER TO OVERSEXUALED" - read the post and what I've said previously. Thats not whats being said - if you think that - you're comprehension and understanding have a few years to mature - come back later.
I like the role of the character and I have no issue with the characters looks or what the character is weraing on the Normandy - BUT - I would like to see evidence that goes AGAINST what we've seen so far for female characters.

But you GET why people were upset, right? How Bioware can REALLY mess up when it comes to the portrayal of their female characters? This may be a similar problem, and it unfortunately cheapens the game.PMC65 wrote...
Trust me, I know that there was more to the Ash debate ... I had to read it everyday in the Ash thread and honestly it got to where I just couldn't care one way or the other.Same here. I'm just getting my fanwangst out of my system ahead of time. This is pretty high up on my "lolwut" scale. Hopefully Chobot will rock as Allers. Knock 'em dead, Jessie. If this person is put in the game so that the geek boys have someone to oogle, so be it. If she is horrendous then I will be right on the bandwagon asking CHud WTF? Really? But until then, I will give that character a chance.
But if she doesn't, then the players, the developers, and Chobot will all suffer from it. Chobot because her reputation would be ruined just when she was starting to get somewhere, Bioware because they would have made a dumb decision in order to drag in just a few more sales, and the players because we were sold for suckers.
So for the sake of all parties involved, Jessie, you'd better seriously knock 'em dead.

Let me spell it out for you:
1) You. Haven't. Played. The. Game.
I'm debating the character design, I don't need to play the game to talk about the concept art.We don't know that.2) She doesn't go into the field.
The network doesn't matter since any reporter working with the military as an embedded journalist has to repstect their respective government and military liasons who allow them to work there, not the network.3) You don't know Alliance-Network dress code protocol
But we know military appropriate attire in this setting and she doesn't fit that in her spanx.4) You aren't the authority on what is appropriate "reporter garb" in the 22nd century.
You can clearly see its a "sporty dress." Your point?5) You can't see the entire outfit.
What's fashion doesn't matter when you're an embed with the military. They let you know what is and isn't ok to wear when you're under their jurisdiction.6) You don't know what "fashion" in the 22nd century is.
You sound like a douche.Come at me bro
Then by all means, use it to support your case. Just do the handy text-hidey thing.100k wrote...
Okay. Well, at least I read the leak, especially the dialogue involving her clothing.
Nah, the politics are mostly the same. And, you know, getting shot can still kill you.Actually you can't make assumptions. The future in which ME revolves around is COMPLETELY different from modern day, both in political forces, technology, medicine, weapons, alliances, capablities, etc.
So in battle, we lob artichokes at each other? I wonder what the mods are for an artichoke gun...Oh, and there aren't bullets "flying around". You're just babbling to hear yourself babble.
Hey, and I've got no problem if she wears a sporty dress like that in her spare time. But you don't plunge deep into enemy territory without wearing some sort of protection.Okay, you go ahead and guess, and I'll TAKE your advice and look at a *seemingly similar outfit within the ME universe: femshep's dress. It was a modest one piece leather dress (non-skin tight) that went to about two to three inches above her knees: the kind of dress I'd expect a politician to wear at a convention.
Nah, FemShep's dress looked nice on her and was appropriate for the occasion. It was kind of fun whipping out a pistol at a cocktail party. But I'm gonna guess that you'll make up some comment about how it was ****ty and made femshep look like a **** pandering for a buck, so we'll just have to leave this alone.
Khalisa was, but Emily's dress had some huge-ass skinholes cut in it. And don't ever think Mass Effect's above cheap sex appeal, for I can totally spam images of Jacob/Miranda's ass.Okay... so... what? Because while Miranda and Samara were dressed in skimpy outfits, the other REPORTERS in the ME universe were dressed in LONG MODEST DRESSES.
Yeah, about to go to bed. Might give it another post or two, though. Are you finished?

*wrote a bunch of stuff about things*
I like the concept of the character a lot, perhaps more than many people who are excited to see her in game. That being said character design is an important thing that should reflect the character. If that's the case here, then it doesn't bode well for what her portion of the story will pan out to be.
