Then by all means, use it to support your case.  Just do the handy text-hidey thing.

I'll do that.

Nah, the politics are mostly the same.  And, you know, getting shot can still kill you.

I'm fairly sure the political powers are different in a galaxy of 10 plus races, but as you wish.

I'm also fairly sure that a kinetic barrier solves the problem of needing to wear armor...on the Normandy...which is where Chobot resides for the game....just like Kelly...who didn't have armor...or a kinetic barrier from what we can see...because she wasn't going into combat.

So in battle, we lob artichokes at each other?  I wonder what the mods are for an artichoke gun...

Chobot ain't going into battle. She isn't a squad mate. I can't make it any more clear than that.

Hey, and I've got no problem if she wears a sporty dress like that in her spare time.  But you don't plunge deep into enemy territory without wearing some sort of protection.

Oddly, that works on multiple levels.

See above.

Khalisa was, but Emily's dress had some huge-ass skinholes cut in it.  And don't ever think Mass Effect's above cheap sex appeal, for I can totally spam images of Jacob/Miranda's ass.

You are correct. By which matter, Chobot is far "better" dressed and proportioned than the other two reporters (to which standard I hold her up to).

But if you'd like to use the Jacob/Miranda argument: that doesn't really help your case, because Jacob and Miranda are both agents who ACTUALLY go into combat BUT DON'T wear armor...because their kinetic barriers protect them.

Look, if you're going to harp on Chobot for not being dressed in some kind of armor, then you have to be willing to harp on ALL of the Normandy's crew for not wearing armor. Including Shepard and his "casual" gear.

So where do you want to start? Bashing BW for not allowing Shepard to wear armor onboard the SR2, or starting at the bottom with people like Adams?

just because i dont like to see women in the military, doesnt mean i treat any of them differently because I believe they shouldnt be there.

Uh... yes you do.  If you think women shouldn't be in the military, you are seeing them differently by default.  If you tell them they shouldn't be in the military, you are treating them differently by default.  And if you're making the extra effort to be "decent" to women but not to men, then yeah, u sexist, bro.

Look, it's GREAT that you're a nice guy.  It's WONDERFUL that you're nice to women.  But you should extend that care and kindness to EVERYONE, capisce?

Also, I'm not completely and insanely anti-gender.  I just think we shouldn't define ourselves by our plumbing.  I'm female and brown-eyed with tiny hands and a big nose because one sperm swam faster than all its buddies.  Big deal.

Chobot is a mutant in real life and more so in this game. Her character makes me cringe

I know that you love Mass Effect like I do and that there is a concern that Bioware might sell their souls and the heart of the game for $$$ ... But based on the tweets, the years that the team has put in this trilogy I would really find it hard to believe that Casey and his team would sell it short. Naive of me? Maybe.

The voice actors have also talked about scenes that tore at them, made them tear up and even was steamy. So I am keeping the faith that we are in for a sweet ride and that even this character will be good. Not to say that she won't have haters, they all do ... but let's give her a chance.

Now, if she is going to follow my Shepard out on the field, she is going to need more than what she is wearing.

Awesome.  Okay.  You and me?  We're cool.

Speaking of women in the military, there's a thing to be said about women in the military vs. women being infantry. A lot of people don't have a problem with women being in the military, though a lot of those same people might have a problem with women being infantry. If you could clarify your stance, Me vs. Bioware, that would be appreciated.

Last I heard women aren't exactly clamoring to become machine gunners or mortarmen so most of the debate about women being infantry is generally marginal.

No really, they're remarkably similar to crap that happens today.  That's the point, that's why it's relevant.

I'm also fairly sure that a kinetic barrier solves the problem of needing to wear armor...on the Normandy...which is where Chobot resides for the game....just like Kelly...who didn't have armor...or a kinetic barrier from what we can see...because she wasn't going into combat.

1. Kinetic barriers get stripped embarassingly quickly and don't protect against weather.  Or rough terrain.  Or fists.  Or anything moving slower than a bullet.  Which is why everyone harped on the unarmored squadmates.

2. If she's not going into combat, then yeah okay whatever.  Let her walk around in pajamas and bunny slippers.

3. The rest of your post made you sound like a total jerk, so I cut it out.  Hope you don't mind.

I can agree with this.  If women qualify, they should be allowed to do any role in the military.  Key part is qualifying.  If they can't then they should be like a man who doesn't qualify.

A human being who was not fit to be a soldier.

One of my early career jobs was as a Receptionist.

All the men I know laughed at me and called me all manner of things.

I'm now a manager (in the same company) and earn more than they do.  Life is good.

Your sex should never determine what you're capable of doing in life - outside of baby making stuff.

But this is now off topic and Woo is going to get mad.

I said this earlier and I don't mean in a negative  way because I do ike the character ...but her ass is staying on the ship because I'm not  going to trumping off to pull her butt from the fire because somebody wanted a one on one interview with  Ole Harby  craby pants about his relationship with Sovereign..

Now if  Bioware was clever they would play this  angle but the advert the whole deal but having you hear the report that she is in come kind of trouble then you  back to the ship and she is perfectly fine and made it with witts, gritt  and brains.

Desire is not so much the problem.  Carrying an eighty pound pack for miles is.  If you can do that, then you have my personal blessing to kick ass for our country.

Gay, straight, man, woman, it doesn't matter.  If you can do the job and you want to serve your country in that capacity you should be allowed.

I'm surprised no one has brought up the argument of "Why is she taking up Normandy space and not so and so squadmate".

Maybe because she isn't a squadmate? Vega's taking up room. But in terms of space she's like Kelly.

Why is she taking up ME3's trailer time instead of Kaidan or Tali (who haven't had ANY video footage yet), or returning ME2 chatacters like Miranda and Jacob and Thane and Mordin and etc.?

Yeah. Meeting the physical standards for infantry and being to pull your own weight plus combat gear is out of reach for most guys I know.

How did this thread became a discussion about what a woman can or cannot do? I bet Lisbeth Salander would scare the **** our of some men here! After she saved them! hahaha

And I'd love to have her on ME3 i/o some ugly model-type with a weird face! But Jack already does that part. Now give her some Muay-thai and hacking training with photographic memory and Jack would be Lisbeth Salander re-encarnated!

I personally would like much better Kristine Steimer i/o Jessica Chobot. First because at least she is a real journalist, I guess, game reviewer and all, and second because she looks much better than Jess, IMHO. Third, she mentioned Dragon Age Origins in this vid!:wub::wub::wub:

No she's not. This isn't fire safety capacity we're talking about here. Bioware limits the squad to 6 (or 8 or whatever it is now). If you're a squadmate, you take up a squadmate spot. If you're not, you don't.

Shepard can have a whole circus onboard (if he can phyiscally fit them) and it wouldn't take up additional squad space.

Ah, but they are there to help the Normandy stay functional, where as Diana doesn't, she is no engineer. Kelly helped with the psychological aspect with squadmates, so she was still useful to the Normandy/ Shepard's awareness towards future people. Liara would more than likely be more useful when it comes to learning of news because of her Shadow Broker status.

HAHA! It would totally freak the Reapers out when dozens and dozens of squad mates start pouring out of the Normandy to clown music.

Lmao, I know.  Again, I'm not against her being there, I'm just bringing up that point, I can see people finding it a waste.
