Why is she taking up ME3's trailer time instead of Kaidan or Tali (who haven't had ANY video footage yet), or returning ME2 chatacters like Miranda and Jacob and Thane and Mordin and etc.?

ME2 characters aren't likely to get any screetime in trailers because apparently they don't stick around long enough. Whose fault is that I wonder.

Don't know why the VS or Tali/Garrus didn't make the trailer. Maybe the teams responsible for that footage fell asleep on the job?

I'm surprised no one has brought up the argument of "Why is she taking up Normandy space and not so and so squadmate".

This was my first criticism, actually. Bring back an established character. They could have easily written Wong into the role. Or made up a character who isn't meant to be an in-game advertisement.

Gay, straight, man, woman, it doesn't matter.  If you can do the job and you want to serve your country in that capacity you should be allowed.

See, that's where I fall short.  I can't even touch my toes.

But I'm working on it.  Sorta.

Because IGN, basically.  Marketing got its hooks into the story.

And yeah, it's silly that the ME1 squadmates who are in tons of the teaser trailers and screenshots for ME3 so far are skipped in the voice actor clip.  I take it as a sign that the existing fanbase isn't the target audience anymore.  There are signs of that on all fronts with BioWare now.  Fair enough--business is business.

This is post 2008 BioWare you're talking about. I can't even say I'm all that surprised at this point.

True, but when it comes down to new fans, they'd ask "Who's this person?  I haven't played ME1 and 2 so I wouldn't know".  It's probably easier for Bioware to develop a new character.

How did this thread became a discussion about what a woman can or cannot do? I bet Lisbeth Salander would scare the **** our of some men here! After she saved them! hahaha

And I'd love to have her on ME3 i/o some ugly model-type with a weird face! But Jack already does that part. Now give her some Muay-thai and hacking training with photographic memory and Jack would be Lisbeth Salander re-encarnated!

I personally would like much better Kristine Steimer i/o Jessica Chobot. First because at least she is a real journalist, I guess, game reviewer and all, and second because she looks much better than Jess, IMHO. Third, she mentioned Dragon Age Origins in this vid!:wub::wub::wub:

What!  You were holding out pop tarts on me?

Not cool.

For the record, I would probably fall far short of infantry material.

Wong is not an embedded war time reporter though, while you could argue that Wong could have some character development there, its also very possible that she'll be playing a different role, as will Al Jilani.

During a war you see lots of reporters, not just one.

You don't spend as much time on the internet as we do and stay in prime physical condition.

And with that, bedtime.  Later, my good people.

Your only beef with the character seems to be the casting. You would on the other hand be fine with some other character that was played by some other actor or an unknown. You have nothing else to base criticism on. Biased.

You're not the only one hence "you people".

well there are people and actors that could have filled the role that would not brought some many  questions  fair or unfair.   I still think Aisha Tyler would have been a good pick the nerdom is strong with her. ...matter fact she does a great podcast - that does interviews with many from  Cliffy B to  Toure to Quest Love, the  Luna Brothers. She has the experience acting and voice acting to not be seen  once fairly or unfairly in the  same light that Chobot is - wether is fair or fair that she is seen in that light.

She very well may  great but the fact that she is tied  IGN and the work that she does is going cast a shadow of doubt over the character that she  is playing and Bioware had to know this going  in.

I get what people are saying, about marketing ploys and whatnot. I don't get why they feel the need to keep saying it however.
It is a marketing ploy, no doubt about that. But that does not automatically rule out a good performance or an enjoyable presence. This is the part people seem to leave out.

I'm just saying wait another month till the game comes out. If she sucks by all means go at it. I can even change this thread into a hatin' ground until the mods shut it down. But all that is premature right now. So just wait.

That's a relief, this forum has too many Armchair Generals.

Hey man you me- I have been nothing but wait and see  how this all plays out ..it could be great, it could be humorously bad... or  it could be the one thing that seens the BSN past the point of no return.

I'm still roleplaying that in my head.

Crap. I will have to use her to get a good ending won't I?

Dammit. I really wanted to kick her off my ship. Now I have to deal with the fanservice chick. egads.

Someone doesn't like Diana Allers or Chobot? Impossible /sarcasm.

Who cares? This seems like advertising to me.
