For someone who is talked about as nothing more than nerd-bait, the designed character isn't that attractive.
Not that she's ugly or anything and I'm already a fan of the character due to a potentially interesting role and the serious whining over the casting decision.
You know... she has the everyday girl vibe going... that messy in the field reporter look... like she too caught in the story for things like salon... etc..
Its a raher nice change of pace.

I expect these are rough renders. They seem to have problem capping faces. I think some of the other screenshots look a bit off as well (Anderson for example). We'll have to wait for the game to make a final decision.hotdogbsg wrote...

I agree with that. Just when I hear nerd bait I'd think of a character like Miranda or Liara rather than a normal 'girl next door' type.

Owwwww sheeeet.
Maybe we'll find out about her "college days" as well.

Stripper pole: *mission update*
LOL!
But seriously, I wonder if she'll be following us on the ground as a sort of embedded reporter and at the conclusion of each mission our summary is given in the manner of a news report instead of a screen with some stats. I remember speculating about Emili Wong in this sort of role some time ago but I suppose there's plenty of reporting to do on the Citadel.

Not sure if that's such a good idea. Embedded reporters sometimes have a way of interfering with military operations. I'd prefer if she stayed behind on the Normandy and relied on Shepard's hardsuit's recording systems to put together a story. Especially if she's going to be wearing that tank top throughout the game.Yakko77 wrote...

Ieldra: I was referring to the graphics, they don't look very polished. I can't say I'm amazed by the outfit but if they do change it I would not be opposed. As for dev reasons for including her... I don't think anyone's debating those lol. Hopefully she has her own merits. We'll just have to see.
Mech: I haven't read the leak but I would assume she was assigned to the Normandy by Alliance higher-ups who aren't too keen on giving Shepard free reign after his association with Cerberus and the whole "blowing up a solar system thing". I expect she'll keep tabs on him. It could also be for propaganda purposes to inspire the resistance across the galaxy.
And the former won't be obvious from the start....
Imaigne you doing a "romance" and faccidnetally knocking over something to reveal a hidden camera. Ooohohohooo. Even funnier if it's with Miranda who is/was Cerberus

Yeah, as RL wars have shown, there can be a lot of bias and outright misinformation dished out as "journalism". There are a few who have shown immense professionalism and honesty and didn't report from the "Green Zone" but were actually out in the field and on patrol with the troops constantly. I'd recommend Michael Yon for a taste of embedded journalism done right. He's brutally honest and is sometimes butting heads with the powers that be in the Pentagon for his reporting but not to the detriment of the troops but in fact to help them as he's on a mission to improve medevac procedures.
Like Michael Yon in RL, maybe the Alliance and/or Council is dragging their feet in some way and it's up to Diana Allers to report the truth by observing and reporting on Sheps progress.

Oh no - not sound like an ass but she staying her butt on the ship... I'm not pulling her butt out of a fire fight because she wanted to a one on one interview with Harbinger.

I like Yakko's ideas. I should look more into embedded journalism. She does have the potential to be an interesting character.

Oddly (or maybe not so odd) enough, I could see some idiot reporter trying just that. It'd be that reporter that we can lay the smackdown on and not even Harby will be able to stop her.

Well then let us hope that Diana is more like this Michael Yon guy, and less like those guys the marines had to knock over in Somalia, so they wouldn't get blown away.Yakko77 wrote...

Was one of her sisters named Diana? I'm trying to remember their names from that moment where Ash is telling Shep about their preferred styles of self defense. Maybe she's married and has a different last name now.

They are four sisters, Ashley is the oldest, then Abby, then Lynn, with Sarah being the youngest.
So no Diana in not Ashley's sister.

Yep, that's the bunch of Williams sisters.
However, Diana -does- look like one of the Williams sisters. At least she fits that image perfectly.

Thanks. Though I was sort of hoping to meet her sisters in one of the games (NO, not for THAT reason...well, maybe a little
As for Diana, I'm definitely interested to see how this new character developes in the story and I'm eager to see how well Jess does in what I believe is her first VA role. The nerdgasm -nerdrage is pretty intense right now over Jess being in this game.
