Don't worry after ME3 is released we'll take the pole out... and beat people to death with it:P

ROFL! Image IPB

Still, I'm betting I'm the only person here that took one look at her and went, "oh look, Lois Lane made it to the 22nd century." Image IPB

I can't wait to see how her role is on the Normandy. I take it Shepard got sick of people not listening to her so she brought a reporter along to record everything! XD

Not really attracted to the person playing her but the character looks a bit of an improvement..

I'm rather cautious about this character. This was mostly caused by MotA entire point of which seems to be "DLC about Felicia Day" with sacrificed in-universe common sense on the way.

But ME2 had Carrie-Anne Moss and Martin Sheen without any celebrity showing off moments.

The other thing I don't like is her "shirt". Don't remember who was the first to suggest that lowering temperature on Normandy on 5 C will help a lot, but this definitely will be the case when I'd prefer having some dude looking like real military journalist risking his ass with soldiers than rather limitedly dressed young female.

But Miranda proved herself being one of the most competent people on Normandy while wearing catsuit.

Don't really know what to say now. Reserve judgement until release.

I would like to express a complete lack of interest in this character. Don't hate her, and I'll give her a chance to impress me in ME3, but as of now, no rats' asses were given whatsoever.

Would you rather give another type of ass instead?

Why the hell would Shepard let a reporter on to the Normandy in the middle of a galactic crisis?

I can deal with the media fine via holographic communication, and would have saved accommodation and provisions to battle-essential personnel, thank you very much.

Seriously, why is there no room on the Normandy for Grunt, Legion, Mordin, Miranda, but room for a reporter? I can't wait to see how this is justified.

I hope there is an option to leave her on earth - or whereever it's safe enough for her to do her reporting.

Maybe it's not his call? He's back with the Alliance and has actual superiors again.

Besides she's hardly taking up a squad spot since she's not on the squad. I imagine she's like Kelly in ME2 in terms of people on the ship.

This. There better be a very good reason for her to be on the Normandy. I'm desperately trying to find some justification of this, pls help me Bioware...

Even Kelly would make more sense imo.

But anyway, I guess I'll find out soon enough.

For those concerned with the abundance of T&A in Diana Aller's (and Ashley's, and Miranda's, and Samara's, and everyone else's) design:

I don't think it's so much the graphics manager needs to get laid as it is their assumption that we (the audience) need to get laid. The general belief is that folks who spend tons of money on videogames don't have a sex life beyond their folders of JPEGs of Yvonne Strahovski.

The ocean of stilettos and catsuits that floods comic books, video games, and all other nerdy market niches is an effort to lure the attention and endorsement of the loneliest and most pathetic of beasts, the geeky 15-to-30-year-old white guy.

Thus, the only way to change this trend is to prove that the "target audience" is neither as inherently immature nor sexually starved as the marketing goons would like to believe.

I'll start the revolution by deleting my pics of Hugh Jackman with his shirt off.

Plus, all things considered, her outfit isn't all that horrifically bad.

^ maybe it's the beer, maybe it's my failing knowledge about English as language, but you're doing a great injustice to me, Cheez ^^

I do have a sex life. And a relationship.
Just because I have a thing for strong, dark haired, hazel-eyed beauties it doesn't mean I don't enjoy my current life *g*

*lol*

No, seriously, in some way you're right: female characters seem to end as some kind of sex symbols in the game. That doesn't change the fact I like Diana (or Ashley, Miranda, ...). They come with interesting characters and story arcs and that's far more interesting than the fact they're sexy dark-haired hazel-eyed super-beauties. ^^

@ Stryker:

No.

Hello? They only one who knows how to defeat the Reapers? Savior of the Citadel? Spectre? If Shepard says that the reporter hinders their mission, would anyone else dare object? Commander Shepard isn't exactly known for liking reporters.

I already used Gibbed's to revive Kaidan and kill off Ashley (hell, I like them both in terms of personality). I'll find a way to get rid of this "reporter" asap too.

Meeeh, reaaally? Only person missing from the game is Olivia Munn. Not really too big fan of the idea, but I reserve my final judgement till I see more of her VA work.

I like Ash and Miri, too (reserving judgement on this Allers character), but the point is that video game publishers always market to the lowest common denominator.  They really underestimate the value people put on a good story with good characters, and overblow the sex appeal thing working under the incorrect assumption that all we want is eye candy.

Also, I was engaging in a little tongue-in-cheek humor that doesn't always translate well.

I like the thought of a reporter on the normandy. I don't even like her on IGN but hoping she does a good job. I mean it is a war. Press go into warzones. She better wear some damn armor in the field like our press does

Maybe you're right. Just check the game again, Cheez - did you see any old people? Yeah, few. Most of them look like mid fifty, but not eighty or something.

Did you see any ugly, fat, disfigured or crippled people in ME?
Right. They don't exist. Either they're not allowed to leave their world(s) or medicine is advanced enough to prevent people from getting fat. :D

Seriously: ME comes with a "perfect" universe, at least visually. So it makes sense most (all???) women come with more or less perfect looks. It's odd, sure, but it's also consistent with the rest of named facts: there are no ugly people, therefore, there are no ugly women, Cheez :police:

Back to the serious part:
Yeah, the tendency is there. Males come in far more (stereo)types, women are usually beautiful and with some huge talents. That's nice to watch at, I won't complain, but also somewhat unrealistic ...

Damn... Look at the detail on that character model...

No, I'm not talking about the boobs. She looks damn good. Hell, so do the rest of the characters we've seen so far. Anticipation = 1 notch higher.

Yeah because all that counted for soo much in ME2 with them...<_<

And he likes Emily Wong just fine. In fact if I had know before today that there would be some reporter onboard I would've assumed it was her. It's only Al Jilani that comes down with chronic Armored-Fist-To-The-Face Syndrome.

Do what you want in your in game. I don't think it's a good idea to judge before you see/play but whatever. I do wonder why you post here if you're determined to hate her though.

Cheez/CptData: Last Action Hero anyone? Fully lampshaded there (along with every other Hollywood trope)
