No shes just a war reporter that interviews Shepard when big events happen. Some people say she actually stays on the Normandy.

So then she'll most likely be an Auxillery attachment to the Normandy.  Personally I hate News Teams following Military detail, and I'm not going to be surprised if I accidentally her out of an air lock or into live weapons testing.
