I wouldn't say its her face that has issues so much as it is her hair. Diana's hairstyle is very "flat." It doesn't have much volume and it doesn't compliment her face very well because it draws attention to her cheeks. Jessica usually has hairstyles with more volume and those gos with her features better. She would look better if they gave her say, Ashley's hairstyle.

I'm beginning to think this topic belongs in the Character discussion board.

This thread has gotten way repetitive. She's in the game, like it or not, but the criticisms seem to all be redundant a this point. I personally think its very cool Jess is in the game. I dont see how her character looking like her is any different than Miranda looking like Yvonne.

You just don't get it. Chobot works for IGN! IGN will give them a good review and then release the Skynet virus and everbody will give ME 3 a good review. Don't listen to the suits man! This doesn't have anything to do with the game. It's about control man. She looks like Snooki man. Everybody knows Mtv controls the media man!

I hope you are just joking. If the game is great overall why would it matter where Chobot previously worked? This arguement seems really null and void of any real concern.

I knew she looked familiar. As long as she is good at voice acting I really do not care, I have no hate for her. If she is a gamer then more points to her.

I would like to have an adam sesseler npc though. Maybe a morgan web NPC as well. They can both be reviewing Galaxy of Fantasy and the other games that one salarian was mentioning.

With developed characters like Emily Wong & Khalisah al-Jilani I wonder why the need to introduce another reporter in the final chapter. I am mildly concerned that their content may have been supplanted to make room for Diana Allers.

I am not concerned with its impact to the overall game (I am still excited as ever). I am just hoping that my Shepard will still be able to interact with characters I have already found entertaining.

This board seems to have the most anti-attractive mindset I have ever seen lol. If anyone or any character in the game is above average pretty/sexy and wasn't from ME1, they're automatically stereotyped and raged against. It's almost like a built up jealousy of pretty or popular people taken to the extreme. We don't actually know if Chobot is talented or not at voice acting, because her job is a game reporter. For all we know she's actually a good actress, but to judge her "talent" before even hearing any voiceover is sort of strange. Some people naturally have voices that fit a character and as long as they emote (directors job to get them to do that), they can do a good job. Just like when normal gamers sometimes do their own voiceovers for mods and they actually sound better than most professionals.

Now I do understand that some people believe there is a conflict of interest here, but I don't think it's too extreme or world moving to be an issue. Her bias towards the Mass Effect series is already known and partly why she got the part. It's more about letting a huge ME fan with public appeal have a chance to play a role than somehow fixing reviews. Lastly, gaming coverage isn't quite on par with something like covering an election or getting to the bottom of corporate curruption. Who cares if someone from IGN gets a part in a game and it's not like there hasn't been full disclosure here either.

Basically Mass Effect 3 is going to get a near perfect score despite her role or the actual merits (which I think ME3 will have) of a perfect score.

I agree.  Even though i'm indifferent to her role, I would have rather seen Emily Wong instead of Diana Allers on board.

Here is a question I do not think has been asked:

Was the character Diana Allers written for Jessica or was she tapped to fill the character and the decision to make the character in her likeness an after thought?

Note: Probably never get a straight answer on this from a developer but just thought it would be an interesting part of the topic.

I agree it is mostly the hair that kills it. It looks like it rained glue and flattened her hair, then dried into a plastic hard mess of ugly. Chobot is pretty gorgeous in real life, so this is BioWare's mistake.

Well, Chobot has been campaigning for a chance to be in the games since before ME2, so there is a good chance they wrote it with her in mind. Who knows though, they may have always wanted a reporter on the Normandy once the war kicked off?

How about we all start getting a real answer from you anti attractive women hating so called fans . I have had just about enough of this oversexualized crap and I am sure the female gamers on here are sick of this garbage . Are you all this outraged because you all hate good looking women. Or is it you want to force all of us who have no issue with a woman looking sexy and kicking ass in ME  to play a game where most of the freaking women are dressed up like a bu8nch of nuns . You all decry oversexualized with every but of Mass Effect 3 info that comes out . you and your kind basically forced Bioware to give ashley armor in ME 3. that took player choice away from us all . Its not right and it dam sure is not fair . So why don't you haters answer up and tell us other games what your game is

You're comment is far too reasonable for BSN, and therefore will be ignored. I however, agree with you. As long as she is a good voice actor, and here character is well written, this news doesn't bother me.

Actually no, forget taking a realistic look at things. She's oversexualized just like miranda and every other female in video games. PREORDER CANCELLED!

Okay, I am about to break a long standing rule of mine to answer you.

That is a massive leap you are taking from my post.  I have never mentioned my thoughts on Diana's look.  In any thread I have posted on this subject.  Why?  It is irrelevant to the topic.  My views on whether I believe the characters are oversexualized or not; has absolutely no relevance to my concern on the proficiency of her voice actor.  If you really want my views on this subject though here:  I like the character's look.  Shocking.  As for Ashley Williams wearing armor; it makes sense.  Another shocking thought, but she is a Marine.  Wearing armor makes sense.  She wore armor in the first game too.  I do not hate the idea of this character.  I do not hate the looks of any character.  ANY!

Answer me this, Cerberus Soldier.  Why do all of your arguements center around this one, superficial, point?
