Here is a question I do not think has been asked:
Was the character Diana Allers written for Jessica or was she tapped to fill the character and the decision to make the character in her likeness an after thought?
Note: Probably never get a straight answer on this from a developer but just thought it would be an interesting part of the topic.
How about we all start getting a real answer from you anti attractive women hating so called fans . I have had just about enough of this oversexualized crap and I am sure the female gamers on here are sick of this garbage . Are you all this outraged because you all hate good looking women. Or is it you want to force all of us who have no issue with a woman looking sexy and kicking ass in ME to play a game where most of the freaking women are dressed up like a bu8nch of nuns . You all decry oversexualized with every but of Mass Effect 3 info that comes out . you and your kind basically forced Bioware to give ashley armor in ME 3. that took player choice away from us all . Its not right and it dam sure is not fair . So why don't you haters answer up and tell us other games what your game is
Actually, as far as the looks go, I don’t think most people are saying Jessica Chobot is unattractive in real life. I think the consensus is that she’s quite lovely. Some people are put off by the pixel version of her. Whether they think she’s odd looking in it, looks like someone less flattering than herself or just plain think it looks ridiculous. I think most have a problem that it doesn’t do her justice. It’s okay that the think this. The world as we know it isn’t going to end because someone doesn’t think an internet/cable tv star is not up to snuff digitally. Video games are in part a visual experience, so expect people to have reactions--good or bad--to what they see.
As far as her clothing: With Ashley, I saw nothing wrong with her attire, but some did and I can understand why. Ashley was an established character, a soldier and it is war. I didn’t agree with their point of view, but I can respect it. As for Diana Allers--her character is new and has been established as a war correspondent on a battleship during a galactic war. Her attire seems silly. Even if it’s her fatigues and not her “uniform”, it is silly that a serious journalist, who represents the Alliance, would wear a skin tight tank-dress or that the Alliance would issue her such clothes. Obviously, they aren’t her lounging clothes since they have the Alliance logo on them. You can understand why some would have an issue taking her profession and purpose on the Normandy seriously. Just because she’s beautiful doesn’t negate her profession and professionalism. I think that is what some people are talking about when they discuss her wardrobe. I understand that you enjoy seeing the human body, I can respect that as I miss the tighter armor from Mass Effect 1, but don’t dismiss other’s claims as being anti-attractive or prudes because they want to see a serious war correspondent look…well, serious.
Honestly, stop being so offended because people you don’t know dislikes an actor that you don’t know. Of course people are going to judge her appearance, but I have seen a lot of people who dismissing her looks/dress, yet say they will give her a chance in-game and that seems fair to me.
