Well, I did put the "journalist" part in quotation marks, didn't I? I know what it is. Sill, if these people had any kind of professional courtesy, crap like this wouldn't be happening. It's insulting to the viewers, to say the least.

No it's insulting to you and maybe a few others.  Now I understand where you're coming from, but for me it usually applies to some intelligent coversation or complex issue a mainstream reporter is oversimplifying/spinning for either ratings or political bias.  Not a gaming reporter who has made it known to all her part in ME3 while reporting on a Kinect feature.  Not really something to be insulted over.

Again, another example, if I said Chris Redfield in RE5 looked like Nick Lachey The incredible Hulk because of his facial features- Giant freakin neck mucles.

fixed.

haha true.
I just remember thinking of Nick Lachey in that airplace scene where he is holding on seconds before saving Shiva. He looked just like him there. I was very disappointed in his appearance.

Disclaimer: I am not insulting anyone with muscles or anyone who looks like Chris Redfield or Nick Lachey. Also, apologies to Nick Lachey, whose fans think him adorable, I am sure. Image IPB

Maybe I used up all my outrage on Ash (if Bioware can't be bothered to put a female marine in a uniform without making it "stylish" what chance does a female civilian have?) but I don't think Allers' outfit is too bad.  At least she's zipped up, unlike Samara.  And the outfit doesn't look so tight it cuts off blood circulation, like Miranda.  Come to think of it, Emily Wong's dress when you first meet her in ME1 is worse than what Allers is wearing in these screen shots.

It doesn't exactly scream "professional" but maybe she's just a talking head that reads index cards for interviews.  Maybe that's just casual attire for her and she cleans up for interviews.  I don't know.  I know very little about this character.  As long as she stays on the Normandy and does interviews and other reporter-like activities, I'm fine with her appearance.  It's if she picks up a gun and starts following Shepard into battle that I'll start headdesking.

No, do not worry, i haven't read any adult reaction from people who talked about Snooki. Oh snooki ! oh snooki ! Oh snooki hahaha ! Bioware how did you dare to do something like snooki, she isn't sexy enough. There weren't what you are talking about, it is only in your dreams. Most reactions are exactly what I talked about. People overreacted, and they even talked about porn stars.

You aren't mature at all,  all what you do is whinning without any substance, except those who are talking about journalism, and are complaining because it is Jessica and they would want at least something else, and you know, I never said that those ones were dumb, and yet, they have a different opinion from mine. Ooooh, wow. But those like you about snooki, yep, that's dumb. I won't change my opinion on that.

I’m whining about her without substance? Orly? Show me a post where I was whining about her being in the game. In fact, I stated that while I am not a fan of Jessica Chobot and I think her outfit is pretty silly for her profession, I am willing to give her a fair chance. I also stated that when shown a picture of Snooki beside of Diana Allers, all I said was “Oh yeah, I can see some resemblance.” Don’t put words into my mouth. Don’t make generalized statements lumping everyone into one pouch. It’s really immature.

And snooki, you don't seem to understand, but it implies also true women in real life, since it is a specific categorization,  otherwise, why people did show some womens in real life that according to them, looked like snooki ? Oooooh you mean they were fake ? They were just pixel ? Are you sure ? lol.

Just check the previous pages and you'll see the pics about true womens. Snooki isn't only about the pic you saw in a game. Just think about it.  ( jersey shore example, yeaaaaaah that's intelligent, that's mature ) are like snooky.

Nonsense. If I said, “The old Lara Croft had breasts like Pam Anderson.” That isn’t insulting all women who has large breasts. We’re talking about Diana Allers. A fake person. Fake. Not real. No one is saying that everyone in the game who has dark hair, cheeks, eyes and a mouth is like Snooki. Again, Diana Allers. Not all women and not all women in Mass Effect.
Again, another example, if I said Chris Redfield in RE5 looked like Nick Lachey because of his facial features--I am not insulting every man who has those facial features. Really, stop getting so defensive and desperately trying to find a “cause” to protest.

You, it's you. You said that those who talked about snooki, weren't childish, I showed you that, yes, they were childish and immature. Most reactions were exactly like that. So when you are trying to say, that I just can't  accept different opinions, that's just wrong. I do not make generalized statements, I read all your posts in this topic since the beginning, and I found them dumb based on a ridiculous concept about snooki.

A woman is considered like snooki because she has a dark skin, long black hair, is chubble, etc etc. What is it for you ? Why everybody posted some pics of womens in real life with the same physic profile ? Snooki is about a specific profile it seems.

you are talking right now about diana, but that doesn't mean that the concept doesn't also imply true persons in real life, so it is as bad. Not only characters are concerned by this concept about snooki.

Pamela is Pamela. I don't think there is a concept  and a generalization about a specific type of womens with a negative connotation ( the goal is to mock ) about Pamela.

Blonde = ****

Femshep wasn't a true woman. Didn't you find this concept blonde = dumb , ridiculous, even if they TARGETED a CHARACTER ?

Yeah, that woman, looks like snooki  apparently, because she is chubble, has long dark hair, etc etc. Yeah. That's  exactly why the bsner posted that pic in this topic.

So, KBomb ? Did you talk about this kind of intelligent and adult comment ? ( And there are almost only things like that in this thread )

Please, be honest, all those who talk about snooki can't be taken seriously.

Honestly, if you can’t tell the difference between sincere concerns or harmless joking from the asinine comments, I guess that is your problem. I suppose the intelligent comments are the ones from the “fans” wondering if they can boink her, or “omg she so sexy I am tappin that”. Shall I take all her fans and compare them with those people?

So,  childish in other words and we can't take seriously.
What I exactly said in my first post. And please, ther aren't different reactions from those who pointed out particularly snooki.

What I said was:
“I don’t think anyone is saying that Jessica looks like Snooki. Some are saying that the ONE screen looked like Snooki. I saw another comparison picture and she did kind of look like Snooki in it. It wasn’t a personal insult to Jessica Chobot, but more of a “Oh yeah, I can see that.””

I also said in earlier post that people should respect others opinions. Show me where I ever insulted her. Please, show one post where I said something blatantly insulting about Jessica Chobot or Diana Allers for that matter. I said when I saw the comparison someone showed me, that I could indeed see a similarity based on the cheek structure. Show me otherwise or please, move on to something

We aren’t talking about other women. We are talking about Diana. By your logic, anything anyone says about anyone can be applied to someone else.

Person one: You know, I really don’t think Drew Barrymore is all that attractive.
Person Two: How dare you, sir! I have blond hair! I am insulted!

Pamela is Pamela. I don't think there is a concept  and a generalization about a specific type of womens with a negative connotation ( the goal is to mock ) about Pamela.

No. That woman doesn’t look like Snooki because she is chubby, or because she has long hair. That woman looks like Snooki because she is Snooki, genius.

Aha! That's where I spotted the suit from.  When my mother worked as a fitness instructor back in the late 80s and early 90s (minus the cool white and add in pinks, purples, neon greens etc.) at the local Boys and Girls Club.  She and the other instructors used to wear spandex workout outfits like that.  Not to mention a lot of people wear stuff like that to the Gym, but I haven't been to one in a decade since I can workout at home just as easily...

Some also posted some pics about some womens with the same profile to mock them. You said but I am talking about a character, so It can't be wrong.  It is irrelevant. If the concept is bad, with a negative connotation, even if you are talking about a character, that's still bad. i showed you the example with the blonde femshep but it seems you didn't get it.

Just because Femshep is a character, doesn't mean that someone who is saying, ooooh noo, she's blonde, she must be dumb,  that it can't be wrong because he is talking about a character. the concept, the stereostype is still there, and bad about blonde in general.

Oh no a new female attractive, she must be a ****. I am talking about a character there, so I can't be wrong with my concept ? It isn't sexist about womens ?

I consider people who think blondes are “dumb” just because they’re blond silly. I liked the pixie cut femshep and I remember loads of people calling her “butch” “lesbian” etc. I thought they were silly, too. I didn’t get upset over it. Maybe because I don’t really care what others think about femshep. I don’t really care what people think about blondes either. I was blond a few times and my friends had a field day with blond jokes. I didn’t sweat it.

People spend too much time worrying over words. People spend so much time trying to be politically correct. They’ve lost the art of ignore. Growing up deaf, I can certainly relate to people having stupid crap said to them, but you have to learn to ignore the idiot comments and not get so worked up about them. I don’t care if someone thinks Diana Allers looks like Gary Busey, as long as she is a great character that adds something to my game, but it won‘t stop me from thinking she looks like Gary Busey. I don’t even care if she wears a tutu and a tiara, if she is a compelling character, but that won’t stop me from wondering wtf she’s wearing. My point is: Calm down and don’t get defensive because someone on the internet says something childish or otherwise about a video game character. The world isn’t going to end because someone you don’t know thinks Diana Allers looks like Snooki. It’s okay. You can breathe.

It is important, when the media makes you feel like an idiot. Or maybe they are the idiots, and they just don't know any better. Either way, it's disgusting.
Anyway, you are right about the mportance of the issue. It is small in comparison to some other media issues (like mainstream media political bias for instance), but I still get pissed off, when I see the lack of basic work ethics like it is with this case.
I will not continue with this debate, since I believe I have made my point clear. Thank you for understanding.

ignoring things allows others to hate, look at the holocaust, the Germans ignored what was going on with the Jews and look at how that turned out, look at the Jim Crow laws in the US, that's what happens when ppl ignore bigotry and stupidity and blind hate

Oh my god, really? That’s what you took from my statement? Are you seriously going to make that comparison? I think there is quite a bit of difference in ignoring insults on the internet like “Blondes are dumb.” or “She reminds me of Snookie” and actual barbaric hate crimes in which people are physically harmed and tortured.

I know. I think she has potential, because Jessica Chobot is funny. Yes she is famous for licking a PSP...twice....but she's funny IMHO.

Side note: I think the image with [toss out airlock] is brilliant because it's funny and to the point. I wouldn't do it if it were in the game but it's funny.

I posted early in this thread that I'm not gonna judge the character without more knowledge then a few seconds of in game footage of her and a few words from the voice actress. I'll be honest I don't really know much about Jessica Chobot other then hearing her name around different game sites and didn't even know about this whole psp licking thing till I started reading this thread.
