Chobot is a huge fan of ME, I say, Fair PLay to her for getting an awesome role. I don't understand the hate exactly.

I posted early in this thread that I'm not gonna judge the character without more knowledge then a few seconds of in game footage of her and a few words from the voice actress. I'll be honest I don't really know much about Jessica Chobot other then hearing her name around different game sites and didn't even know about this whole psp licking thing till I started reading this thread.

HA! yes long and short of the PSP thing...she licked the PSP on attack of the game a couple years ago and then recently-ish licked the same PSP but it was dusty this time. good sport, I say. what she did (licking a dusty PSP) was gross, but she's a good sport.

mmmhmm

And to add, what's wrong with her right arm? Model problems goin on all over the chobot character..

I'll say it again, trying to portray hyper realistic representations of the actor's face, comes out looking terrible. (Miranda/Yvonne I'm lookin at you too)

I didn't know either - and I googled it.

I now have the name of another moron I hate who has become a celebrity for being...a moron.

There are some pictures of Diana where she looks like her - but its more the dark shadows and lighting causing it.

Yeah, I agree with this. Lighting can make a huge difference. It’s still pretty off though. They would have probably been better to create a character and have Jessica Chobot voice her.

ignoring things allows others to hate, look at the holocaust, the Germans ignored what was going on with the Jews and look at how that turned out, look at the Jim Crow laws in the US, that's what happens when ppl ignore bigotry and stupidity and blind hate

Oh my god, really? That’s what you took from my statement? Are you seriously going to make that comparison? I think there is quite a bit of difference in ignoring insults on the internet like “Blondes are dumb.” or “She reminds me of Snookie” and actual barbaric hate crimes in which people are physically harmed and tortured.
I just…wow. Ridiculous. Image IPB

so its ok to bash others as long as its over the internet? allowing others to fuel their hate is ok simply b/c they're expressing it over the internet, all hate whether its on the internet or not shouldn't be tolerated and ignored, by defending those who rip on others b/c they're different just b/c its on the internet is not ok . . . hate should never be tolerated . . . ever b/c thats what leads to ppl being actually harmed, don't underestimate the power of an open internet . . . just look at the revolutions in the Middle East, it was all started on the internet

Yes, I am saying that if someone on the internet makes the statement “I think blondes are dumb!” You should ignore them. Why? Because arguing with them isn’t going to change their view. They’re either saying it to troll, or “to be funny”, or just because they’re ignorant. What will you gain by getting mad? Does it make you feel better to know that you’ve said something? Do you need that validation that you’re making a difference in the world of internets? If someone is trolling, the best course of action is to ignore them and I would imagine any moderator here would tell you that.

I don’t care if someone makes blond jokes. I don’t care if someone makes deaf people jokes. I honestly just don’t care. In the scheme of things, it’s unimportant. Report them to a moderator and move on with your life. If there is no moderator, ignore them. Most jerks act like jerks only when they have an audience. When I turn off my computer, the people on it are forgotten. Bashing people is never okay and you can’t help what other people do--you can choose how YOU react to it. You can feed the trolls or let them starve. You can participate and lower yourself, or be the better person and rise above it.

Maybe I used up all my outrage on Ash (if Bioware can't be bothered to put a female marine in a uniform without making it "stylish" what chance does a female civilian have?) but I don't think Allers' outfit is too bad.  At least she's zipped up, unlike Samara.  And the outfit doesn't look so tight it cuts off blood circulation, like Miranda.  Come to think of it, Emily Wong's dress when you first meet her in ME1 is worse than what Allers is wearing in these screen shots.

It doesn't exactly scream "professional" but maybe she's just a talking head that reads index cards for interviews.  Maybe that's just casual attire for her and she cleans up for interviews.  I don't know.  I know very little about this character.  As long as she stays on the Normandy and does interviews and other reporter-like activities, I'm fine with her appearance.  It's if she picks up a gun and starts following Shepard into battle that I'll start headdesking.

One of the most sane posts about this I've seen recently. Yes Emily Wong's dress was more revealing but later in the game she changes it. Likely the same happens with Diana.

This is BSN. It happens every time Bioware introduces any new character into a series.

Reminds me a lot of the baseless dislike for James "Sanders" when news/pics of him first surfaced, people seemed to dislike him on principal or "just 'coz". Same thing seems to be happening here, though I'm seeing more dislike for the VA than the actual character she's doing the voice for. o_O

just because you respond doesn't mean your lowering yourself to their level, you can defend those who can't defend themselves, you can stand up against hate even if it won't change their mind, they (the trolls) need to know that they are in the minority and that their hateful views aren't being supported by anyone

We have not heard one sentence of voice acting from her voice actress either.  Which is a concern for some of us.  That is all it is, a concern.  Yet, those who voice this opinion are often lumped into the same mold as the gibbering idiots who compare her to snooki.

I have an issue with this because she is considered both media and a reviewer. Bioware has already had an issue with Meta Critic and now, this. If you wanted to put an attractive "video gamer" woman in the game. Olivia Munn makes more sense. At least she no longer works for G4 and she acts. The first rule of reporting is never become the Story. It is a total conflict of interest that brings a negative vibe on what looks to be a great game.
