Likely not. I imagine the demo will be the intro level and Sur'kesh.

Hmm if jersey shore never came on Tv would people be upset if they looked like them? i've never seen the show so to me these faces dont bug me at all and i could care less who voices them or if based off some one as well, plan to wait to see how they act and how useful they are when the game comes out, cause right now we are all guessing :D

Very uncanny valley.

Why do we need an embedded reporter? Shepard should be saving the galaxy not making sure everyone knows he is doing it.

Everyone knowing he's making progress wil improve moral and inspire others to carry on fighting or join the fight.

All Reapers gotta do is follow the news and BAM! "We got him!"

"Man! How the hell Reapers know where I am going before hand?! Do we have listening bugs in the Normandy?!", Shepard might wonder.

Who's going to be inspired by a news story? I would hope they were too busy fighting the Reapers to sit around and watch the news.

I don't understand why there would be non combat personnel on a combat ship fighting the greatest threat in all of galactic history.

They are called war reporters

Shepard stopped being a moron and decided that maybe he should start recording all their evidence on the reapers

too late but at least he is learning

Not really actually.  Military powers used to have enlisted/combat war photographers on the front lines during high profile wars such as WW2.  It's very likely that enlisted journalists would see combat duty when your sending ships out into the galaxy that normal journalists have no access to.  Even more so if the Alliance is trying to control their image and wouldn't want unfiltered or secretive information being reported to the public.

We will probably never know since I doubt ME3 will cover it, but if the Normandy SR2 was going to be a publicly known ship (for progaganda purposes), Allers might have been enlisted into the crew to report on it temporarily.  For all we know she was never even suposed to be on the ship and was just an Alliance reporter reporting on Shepard's trial cought between a rock (escaping on the Normandy SR2) and a hard place (getting killed by Husks and Reapers).  Entirely possible to have a reporter on board when humanity is getting wiped out...

It worked for Battlestar Galactica...

Well first of all...idc about BSG, never seen it and dont plan to. You have a point about the war reporters...but still...knowing this character is just an obvious gimick that exsists for reasons I've already said in this thread. I find it a bit hard to take her seriously in her role.

Because it's supposed to be in the future and not the past...
I mean there's reporters going along with military personel since at least WW2 and with the advent of near instantenous communication methods they've only become more common place in the eyes of the public and media.

You could question if it's wise to have her on board, but that's why you can kick her off. But if you can't imagine a reporter travelling with a combat unit than you're behind the times.

Well I would want to know how long it takes for Shepard to come back and bail our asses. And it's always good to hear if he's beating Reapers up.

They don't just sit there and watch the news, even the war against robots, there are breaks in the fighting. So that's bullcrap.

She's not going to do anything, she's not a soldier.

if we take a look at the achievements that were released the other day, i think she (and some others we might see on board) will go a ways toward getting one of those achievements....

this concept was alluded to in a blog about being on the normandy with spare time a while back

The only thing I don't like about having Chobot in the game...is that Chobot is in the game. No matter how I try I will always see....her as Chobot. I hope I'm wrong and it doesn't break the immersion.
