No. You're thinking of Samantha, she litterally replaces Kelly
Is this only if Kelly is dead?
No. Kelly's gone either way, she becomes a full romance if you romanced her in ME2.
Jesus christ, this game really is a dating sim.

I'm pretty sure she was only in the video because she's popular, not because she's important.HTTP 404 wrote...
remember when she had a show with that jackass guy? and then that jackass guy died? I think she's cute, I wouldn't exactly say hot, nor that funny, nor that...she can act?
all the cast members shown in that video are a big part of the story...so Im guessing chobot will be as well...I don't know if thats a good thing yet.

Meh.
And I didn't know who Jessica Chobot was until I googled her, after seeing that Voice Cast clip.
Still meh.
I never heard of her before either, but I will reserve the right to judge once I've heard her performance in-game.
Where I'm taken aback is having another darn reporter involved,
I'm sure that the writing and performance will be fine, I just wonder why more reporters?
Obviously the most logical thing to do is plant a reporter on the most crucial ship in the whole effort to you know, broadcast the location and actions of its crew to the entire galaxy.
Honestly, if the writers are smart, she's making a documentary.

that would be nice.. I don't dislike her; I just didn't think she was an actress or of acting ability. hopefully she proves me (most of us here as well) wrong

well of course it is haven't you noticed, you can romance alot of people. For me I prefer games with romance in it, i'm usually like this "if it doesn't have romance in it it i'm not buying or playing it"

I'm good with running into her planet-side somewhere, even on the Citadel, on the way to completing something important.
Shep doesn't need an embedded reporter keeping tabs on anything even a documentary, especially if Shep is former everything by ME3's start anyway.

I personally think that the whole reason Jessica is voice acting in Mass Effect 3 is because Bioware is playing nice with IGN who have always supported and gave good word about the Mass Effect series. I'm not saying that's bad I just think it's the reason why she's voice acting in ME3.
Well it can't be because she's an accomplished actress with years of experience.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but it really can't.

And why exactly would they do that? ME2 got critical acclaim from just about everyone, they don't owe IGN anything. I also don't see how this would benefit IGN in the first place.mango smoothie wrote...

And it's not like IGN is a particuarly critical reviewer. They get allot of traffic, for some reason, but if you're at least an average game, you'll get around a seven. So ME3 will have no problem getting a ten.

To whose that are gripping, Jessica Chobot will be fine, the character/gig is basically what she does in reality.

I also find the whole reporter aspect interesting. Can't wait to see how it pans out in regards to choices we make etc.
Really hope there is opportunities to have interviews and get Sheps views and opinions across - and if that will have an impact on how the rest of the Galaxy sees shep and what he is doing.
Although Emily Wong still gets the first up exclusive.

I've haven't seen much of bad things coming from IGN about Mass Effect, and I've seen more articles about Mass Effect from IGN then any other Gaming review website. Also it could benefit IGN by having Jessica be more well known.
EDIT: Like I said in my orginal post I'm not saying it's bad nor does it bother me, I was just stating my opinion. I'm not trying to turn this into a debate.

interestingly, IGN have already said Jessica will not be involved in any ME3 coverage and she's an independent employee, or something to that effect.Atakuma wrote...
