Hey I currently have a related issue and want to know if there is anything I can do.  I played the Dwarf Noble origion and  downloaded the Blood Dragon armor shortly after I created my charcter.  After playing through the dwarf noble origin at the end you get exiled and all of your items are taken away.  My blodd dragon armor disappeared at this point.  I never even got to use it.  Is there anything I can do to get it back.

Have you installed the last game patch 1.02a? Normally it prevents the lost of promotional items at the end of the dwarf origin.

Also another thing you may try to get the armor back is to disable the armor DLC in the options,
load your savegame,
create a new savegame,
enable back the DLC,
load the new savegame.

i didn't bother trying the way listed. i just opened with 7zip and swapped the dao_prc_promo_me folder with the one in my addins folder and opened up the game and it was working. haven't played more than just checking though...as it is 2 in the morning and i need to go to sleep.

the 1.1 "fix" deletes the armor from all my chars!
tried to just open the .dazip with 7zip and trow everything to the the folders as suggested in page 2, to no avail , tried the save -load trick and no armor, the register thing well the game is register the dlc shows enabled but is just not there, already read all the pages and tried everything listed but the 1.1 armor just disappears every time , i think i just stick with 1.0 for the time being , i really dont know whats wrong 1.0 works fine, 1.1 just banish the armor from existance.
The armor just disappears from all my saves after updating to 1.1 this
"fix" just destroys the armor from all my saves, already tried the
VariableEntity method to no avail the armor shows enable but is just
not there when i load the saves, reloaded the game while log off as
suggested by OldMan91 and job_intania84 cheked the manifest as
suggested by VariableEntity the problem persist check my cd key as the
mod aaaa1234 say and as Grizzly_UK says my cd is there so i dont know
what to do tried everything in this thread to no avail , really to sum
up 1.0 give me back my armor 1.1 just deleted the armor from every
single saved game reenable the content save the game apply the new
patch doesnt work my armor just banish from existance , i dont know
what else to do really.

The reason some people are having a problem with changing the "extension" of the file. (*.zip > *.dazip)This is because by default windows is set to hide those and not allow you to change it.

I'm working with Vista. But it's similar on other windows. Just to clarify that I am helping those who don't know how to change the file type to "*.dazip". The fix is simple really..
1. Go to Control Panel.
2. Go to Folder Options.
3. On the View Tab (WinXP it's on Advanced tab). Scroll down till you find "Hide extensions for known file types" and UNCHECK the box beside it. Hit Apply and OK.
Now when you see the files in your folders it will show the full name of the file.
Example: randompicturename.jpg instead of just the name.
Now you should be able to change it without problems.
Hope this helps some of you people that have not got the answer you've been screaming for.

ah well, after reading the whole thread, and hearing my friend (who got the PC version and get the bug after installing the the fix) i did some test, and i was able to determine that the main problem seem to come from the new 2da.erf, i dont know what cause the problem (i only exchanged the file 1 by 1 until i got the problem) but it seem that the problem come from that file



i tried it both on XP on win 7 (we both use a dual boot with XP and Win 7)

Just a quick question: is there a way to determine which version of the add-on you have? I recently re-downloaded everything and I'm just curious if it's the 1.1 version, or if I need to update manually.

After installing the 1.1 fix as per the 1st post, the icon in the downloaded content for Blood Dragon Armor is gone... 1.0 has an icon but not 1.1. Did I do anything wrong? How to get the nice icon back like all the others DLC?

Fix for lost icon or gray box for blood dragon armor in the dlc downloaded and installed list.


The problems are the following:

The new updated armor .dazip file does not have blood_dragon_armor_module.dds in it. ( the one taken from the original poster Jason)...

You need to put the blood_dragon_armor_module.dds in : documents/bioware/dragon age/addins/dao_promo_me after installing the new armor with daupdater...

You can obtain this blood_dragon_armor_module.dds from your original blood dragon download.

second problem is that the gui.erf in the new armor .dazip file seems to be corrupted.

You need to replace that file with the same gui.erf but from the first armor .dazip, again you need to take this file from the original blood dragon armor download.

now

If you want to find where the gui.erf file is, the path is below:

it is located in: documents/bioware/dragon age/addins/dao_promo_me/core/data

take the gui.erf from the original file after installing the new armor and put it in overwriting the new one and after the doing the first step also you should not get a gray box anymore for the blood armor whilst having the rest of the promo as the fixed version.

i hope i make sense in my instructions....




short version:

In resume: after installing the new armor, you need to take those 2 files from the original blood armor zip




blood_dragon_armor_module.dds

gui.erf



and put them in their proper place overwriting the new ones in the install folder for the armor...

To disable authorization for each an every add-in (currently only BDA1.1 and RTO1.1) do the following:



- open BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings\\\\AddIns.xml (is in your documents)

- either remove every RequiresAuthorization="1" or change 1 to 0

- don't forget to save the changes

When i added the Dragon Armor on Alistair it all apears in white when its on him and so does the character show white, but when its in my inventory it shows as normal.



Does this patch also fix that? (I have yet to install the patch since i doesnt say anything about my issue)

did they nerf the blood dragon armor helm gloves legs and boots to having no stats just armor rating now after i updated my game they now are just like reg armor and all cost 2 gold from the dwarf vendor at camp. my game auto updated it to 1.1 when i started playing the other day.

I think the 1.1 "fix" delete the armor from all my chars too, but it is not quite so...

All set bonus saved (it's similar to the natural defence) u can not disarm it, but u can equip another armor or robe & effects sum.

However, if start new game armor does not appear..

sorry if i am in the wrong post anyway : just installed awakening first thing i notizt was that all my Blood dragon armour is gone from the game (hard to miss if one starts up naked walking down to the keep in the intro seene ) it shows up in the DLC as being installed and active but not in the game itself tested an earler save and all Blood dragon armour is there i hope i dont have to reinstall or buy the Armour again

any help wuld be nice and thanks in advance

the dlc items do not transfer over to the awakening but its not a big deal with the tier 9 gear that you get.
