I'm assuming things have settled down a bit from launch as far as video card performance.  I have access to the following cards and I'm wondering which would give better performance w/ latest patch & drivers (using either DX10 or DX11)?

AMD Radeon HD 5870 or Nvidia GTX 570?

I know here, the latest AMD drivers cause crashes on 5870 boards when running with the DX11 renderer.

I don't think you'd otherwise see much difference between the two, depending on resolution.

I have two GTX 570's, and the game runs at nearly constant 60 fps at 1080p, all settings maxed except AA at 4x. Using these settings with a single card causes very noticable stuttering, I had to disable both SSAO and DDoF if using 'Very High' for smooth frame rate (SSAO with 'High' works fine). Not sure how the 5870 works.

Hi devSin,

By latest, do you mean 12.1?  I currently have 11.12 installed.  As far as you know, is 11.12 all good on the 5870?  Thanks!

I think it stopped working with the 11.8 drivers, and apparently has been broken since.

If you go back to 11.6 or 11.7, though, you should be safe. Assuming you don't also want to play any game that was actually released in the last 10 months, I guess.

If you have to go with the 5870, it should perform fine. I'd try the newest drivers first (you may get lucky, or maybe I'm just unlucky), and then you can revert if it's too unstable (I played 100+ hours with the 11.5 or 11.6 drivers and don't remember a single crash).
