Figured I owed them some useful information after I helped Samesh Bhatia stop his wife's body from being used for Weapons Testing in ME1; and having Alliance recruitment rates suffer in 2 as a result.
Besides, they have a tough enough job as it is, what with the Reapers n' all. Having a one-up over Cerberus is a welcome bonus.

Since Cerberus, is... somewhat evil and dastardly in ME3, I don't think anyone cares about the data.
In ME2, they wanted you to get it to prevent data on their Rachni experiments from damaging their public image. Such a concern is moot in ME3.
