When I negotiate with the demon in the Fade (I'm a mage) I've managed either to make her give me the blood mage skills by allowing her to re-claim the boy when he's grown up, or tell her to leave the boy for good but miss out on blood mage skills.
But - as I play a basically good character, it wouldn't really be ok for him to allow the demon to return later. Is there any conversation choices that will allow you to get BOTH blood mage skills AND make the demon leave the boy for good? Or is making this "evil" choice a must for opening up the "evil" blood mage skill tree?
Redcliffe demon negotiation - any way to get a better deal?

You have to agree to the demon's demands. However, once a spec is unlocked, it stays unlocked. A lot of people collect Blood Mage and then reload an earlier save and play things out the "good" way. The Blood Mage spec will still be there.

you must make the evil choice. Though, I personally don't think it's that evil. I made it as a good character under the assumption I can always go back when the demon takes over, with a few circle mages, and banish her for good. Obviously you don't get to actually do this, but I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to, realistically.

If you have a high enough persuade you can get her to leave forever and grant you a boon (and really as a mage what else are you going to put your skill points into?). Unlock Blood Mage, then reload and take the talent book.

Question.
If I'm not a mage, who's Intimidate/Persuasion gets checked? The mage I send in, or the PC?

Only a PC mage can make a deal.

You can't negotiate if you're PC isn't a mage, at least I never could when I sent Morrigan in. Wynn may be a little more persuasive but what's she gonna do? Bore the demon to death?

Truthfully, she can't do anything with the demon but have a small conversation first, then fight.

If you don't mind the RP thingie, take the blood mage spec, then make a new save with the blood mage unlocked, and then reload and save the boy. You'll have BM unlocked for all heroes in all games...

You should really get a cut scene if you forgo blood mage and the book. I'm just sayin'.
