Hi.
Yesterday my laptop overheated and shut itself down while I was playing ME2. After a reboot I tried to run the game again, but my cd/dvd drive wouldn't read the playdisc. I could start the game launcher manually from desktop, press play and get a message complaining something about the cd-key being wrong.
Biggest problem is that the drive won't read the disc at all.
I hope the crash didn't damage the disc - no visual signs, cause other discs start running just fine.
Any help?
CD/DVD drive doesn't read ME2 disk

It's a common problem, something to do with the copy protection. What I do is I explore the disc and when I hear it spinning I double click the executable.
You could also download Origin, register your product key and download and install a legal digital copy.

I would worry more what happened to your computer during the shutdown rather than the disc. It may be a common issue for people who previouly hadn't played to have the issue, but not so much just out of the blue after a crash. The fact that you can play manually and get a key wrong makes me think the registry or op system got a bit borked. I would personally try a uninstall and reinstall of the game and see if it fixes it. But be careful of heat in the future, unless you want an expensive paperweight.
