Mine was just a matter of restarting the game and the new map markers showed up for the add on content.

You mod the steam version just as you would the retail version (I run steam). All the data is stored in the same place documents/my documents (then under the bioware folder).

the only difference between the 2 is where the main game files are stored and where to find DAupdater.exe, etc

D:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\bin_ship\\daupdater.exe

is where I have the steam version installed. Make a shortcut to the updater on your desktop. Download a mod, if it's in .dazip form, you are good, if it comes to you in .zip, rename it to .dazip. Run the updater then drop the mod(s) in and go from there.

Note: Some mods do NOT use the updater and MUST be manually installed. For those type of mods, read the instructions that come with the mod on how to install them ;)

like i said the bioware folder is alwyas in teh same place even if the game is steam, d2d or retail, it's just the game files that are in different places and even then no matter what you run, once you get to the: dragon age origins folder, ALL the structures under that are IDENTICAL be it steam, retail, etc
