*Maybe* I'll give him more time on it... *if* the dratted dwarf gives *me* time to wrap up Rogues >:-/Jenna WSI wrote...
That's looking really nice! Would prefer if we could have a version that doesn't need a 'person' attached to the spirit.. if possible? Having both options would be great.
*sigh* But it's so hard for me to stifle creativity when it's in full flow. Here's how she looks with Shemsu's head.

Texture issues, but no more screenies this week. Of the Oni. I mean it, Cestus!
*shakes finger at the dwarf*

Dragon Turtles come to us from Oriental mythology, and I DO have need for a Statue of a Dragon Turtle.. though I'd rather see it based off this mini..

So if anyone was still looking for something to make this month... :innocent:

Currently, it is just for a single shape-changed oni. The purpose is to have the oni spawn as NPC (female human #8, in fact). Only through story (or with true-sight) is the guiding oni-spirit visible (to PC). Script-wise, I'll do an appearance swap. But the Oni will be considered human for weapon/FE purposes *unless* revealed.Kalindor wrote...
Rolo, forgive my ignorance but is your oni effect applicable to different models as a VFX or is it static for one model? It would be most amusing to be able to have the PC "possessed" and apply this VFX to them.
In the long run, we are exploring options in both the "Possessed by demon" VFX (or tail) and "Item manifestation (i.e. Gauntlets of Ogre power, belt of Storm Giant strength)" VFX (or tail) direction, which actually has me drooling :-)
Problems: Anims on effect have to match gender/race, as (the important, and super-finicky, part) the hands *must* superimpose over the base model hands. Which means the anims on the effect must be the same name, order and number of frames as the *total* of all the anims in the supermodel-chain as the base model. Basically, we need to create a new "spirit" supermodel chain.
Also, the effect has to be linked to the base model through the impact node (VFX) or the tail/wing node( which block those spots and have the problem _six pointed out of being aligned to the pelvis. <you're rambling, old man>
Heh.
Ok, short form: Single special-purpose appearance for now. More later, if we can get it to work.

Looking pretty good to me, Z :-)
Really impressed at how you *don't* show repeating patterns in all that sand. I *know* how hard that is.

I have a fondness for dragon turtles, though I have *shocked admission* never actually used one in campaign. Wow! I haven't? <nope. dragons, yes. world-turtle, once. dragon turtles - never>usagreco66kg wrote...

Heh.
However, though I know you like that mini and it looks cool and ferocious... The dragon-turtle signifies long life and new beginings and is of the Eastern order of benign beings...
I just have a conceptual problem with her wearing a red-dragon head :-(
Luckily <srsly?> I am so freaking busy there's --><-- that much chance *I* will get around to modeling it <srsly>
OTOH, when I get around to my complete remake of all the metallic dragons to align with an eastern ethos, I'll undoubtedly add in a dragon turtle. Named Gamera. <srsly?>
Would you *stop* that, Bother!<hehe>

Yep, I get that the Asian dragon turtles are peaceful looking symbols of peace, happiness, guardians of the carebears and they eat only 100% organic produce that's fertilized with pixie dust and harvested under a rainbow.
I picked that mini for 2 reasons..
1) I'm Greedy.
2) I couldn't possibly care less about /have less need for Oriental additions/content. There are plenty of folks that do (hence the category winning, and having "Oriental additions" AND a seperate category for "Monsters from Asian Mythology.)
On my own hard drive, I will force the Oriental content and the Airships to duel to the death in horrific gladiatorial combat (Probably using the gorgeous tiles that Zwerkules is building). The authors in those categories did some great looking stuff.. just nothing I really could find a use for:?
On my own PW project I even replaced the weapons in the katana and
shuriken slots, so that the feats could go to a weapon type didn't feel
"Wrong" in the setting .We use the Western Heartlands in the Forgotten Realms setting, and use Loudwater in the 1370's as one of the main cities. According to various resources, the bank in town is "The Watchful Turtle", named after the statue of a Dragon Turtle found nearby... Was just my attempt at sneaking in a content request loosely using the theme
That said, The content again looks great all! (As always!)

Might be an idea to merge this into your creations to have a nice complete oriental collection.
And here are some more nice ones:
Title: Polynesian Village
Author: Lodrezzon

Maybe it doesn't fit for you at all, because you want to do new additions to vault contents. It's just that these creations or the idea of the possibility to merge it into your stuff doesn't get lost.

Although Coulisfu seems to have faded away, his work may continue on in the CTP:
CTP? Is this a planned release? Can't find mention of it in the forums...This is one of the greatest sets that has been released on the vault. We, the CTP Team, think so much of this set that we have included it in our releases. We have taken this set, repaired the issues that we could, and added tiles where we thought it would help to expand the usage of this set.

I don't have the knowledge needed to do that by myself; but maybe someone more skillful could make one or more oriental dragons; Using the NWN 1.9 Mist Dragon model and animations as base. I think the mist dragon is very close to the typical oriental dragons. It only needs a few modifications, like removing the mist, increasing the size, and probably a reskin...
Thanks, that's all...

I do intend to re-cast the entire metallic lineage in the Oriental mold and I was planning to start with the Mist Dragon as a base. However, it won't be soon and it will be a major project. Among the things I feel *need* to be done are:
- Textures: Major over-haul with fine definition on head
- The head: Major over-haul.
- The body: about 50% more segments for truly serpentine anims.
- The limbs: About half as long.
- The paws: Major overhaul (4 fingers, thumb; 5 toes)
- Anims: Major overhaul.
- AI: Dedicated *intelligent* dragon AI
Rather have *something* than a promise from the Prankster Wizard...

Talking about the mist dragon, there is an interesting MOD "Nessa more Mist Dragons" which adds a new versions of the mist dragon in different colours...

I am motivated, but I'm not sure I'll get finished alot, unless I'd have the first weekend in March to work on this.
I have finished the basic terrains: mountains, city and desert. Raise/lower doesn't do anything yet and probably won't by the time I'll have to upload this tileset.
What will be there are towers and gates for the city walls and a couple of small buildings. I'm not sure if there's still enough time left to make larger groups of buildings and palaces.
