Well, I was trying to be vague on the possibility that it was the right guess and hadn't occured to people, but honestly it was a pretty major point in ME1 anyway.

The "they" I'm talking about is just the general reveal that the Citadel could become a sort of giant mass relay.  I believe Vigil mentioned it.  (I haven't played ME1 in some time, so I may be getting a little confused here).

Anyway, regardless of what happened, I remember feeling that the scene in the concept art has been heavily forshadowed before.

My guess, were I forced to make one, is that the Reapers use it as a kind of "home ship", quickly transporting their invasion force to various places.  I could be totally wrong though, as I haven't read the script or any such thing.  Please do not confirm or deny that theory if you know  Just throwing my speculation out there.

Adding onto what you've said there.. I'm not sure if this would work scale wise...

But perhaps the idea is that by flying the citadel into earth, keeping in mind it's status as a ginat mass relay, could the idea be that it would transport earth to a position elsewhere? Perhaps shaking the Reapers off at the same time?

But seriously, didn't think of it like that.  That would definitely be an interesting twist, using the Citadel as a kind of escape device.

Haha it does sound kinda silly when you put it like that :L

It's hard to come up with a victory plan with such complex set pieces ala: a massive space station that was built by the enemy, yet houses the good guys and is at the same time the center of the galatic government and a massive mass relay connecting to all the other relays

If image nb. 10 is really what some people hint here, then I wouldn't recommend watching it closely. But I didn't recognise it until someone pointed out, so maybe it's a matter of "know what to look for".
