This. It's nice to see Bioware and Microsoft were able to make a compromise. Makes it better for us.
After leaking the entire script it is the *least* Microsoft can do.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait, what? What rock have I been hiding under?

Yeah, it was a really big deal at the time. It's possible that most of the story was spoiled by the process, but as someone who's read them, I think I can safely say that some things have been changed (cough Invasion cough).

The sad thing is that I usually DO check on ME3 news every freakin' day like an obsessed fangirl. I have no idea how that slipped past. OH, GOD, I'M A HORRIBLE OBSESSIVE FANGIRL.
I was worried I'd have to admit that Microsoft did something cool. Now I can safely continue to hate them. Hooray!

However, Silver members of Xbox live don't even get access to the demo until a week after it's release.
Does this mean that they'll still have to wait a week to play the ME3 demo and THEN they'll have access to the multiplayer/Gold portion?

It's not the whole script, it doesn't list every outcome or detail out or how every little thing goes. Yeah there will be spoilers in it for anyone who reads it but a lot of its still people assuming one thing or another out of context.
And yet everyone goes around stating its the whole script like MS leaked a huge text document. don't get me wrong, its a bad thing and they really screwed up. But still... it's not the whole script, its basic **** out of context.

Wouldn't you have to have gold to access the demo anyways? I mean you can't go online unless you have gold, so there for you would have to have it first to get it free, Right? I mean its good news, but I am confused. I have gold anyways but just thought silver didn't have any access. I am prolly wrong but still confused.
People with Silver can get the demo a week later.

On a personal note, if MS is going to follow their Gold exclusive demo policy for ME3, I guess I'll download the PS3 version to satiate my curiosity (even though my using the PS3 controller for a Mass Effect game will probably take some getting used to) and then play the 360 version a week later "for real" to get a better feel of how the proper game will play for me.

As a loyal fan who wants to get the most out of the Mass Effect series I got Xbox Live Gold last Oct. the first time I've ever had an Xbox Live Gold membership and it's due to my Love and time invested in the story of Mass Effect. Also I do have a PS3 but I've been playing ME since 1 on my 360 and I'm not about to jump ship with ME over to the PS3.
Mass Effect 2 is responsible for me getting a standard Xbox Live account for the DLC, and ME3 is responsible for me getting Xbox Live Gold. Mass Effect forced me to embrace DLC and Live. Before I just wanted everything to be release on a disk expansion pack.
My Love for Mass Effect forced me to evolve as a Gamer! My hats off to ya.

I don't get Gold indefinitely? Pre order canceled.
Seriously this sounds like a pretty good marketing move. People would have more incentive to play the demo and see if they want the game or not.
Not only that, but it exposes so many more to XBL Gold and all the perks.
Doesn't matter to me since I have been a Gold Member for years. Still, good move.

Hate them again because of a mistake? I wouldn't want to make mistakes around you. It really wasn't even Microsoft's fault the script was leaked; a small group of people mined the story files out.
