Vega and Shepard wont last 10 seconds against a Space Marine.

40K? no they wouldn't but this has nothing to do with that universe, everyone would lose a fight against the Flying Spaghetti Monster Image IPB

Your forgetting, vega is younger and fitter then shepard (not that I reckon he should win) but my shepard would knock him on his ass

... Actually you don't need to grow weaker with age, If you keep fit and continue to lift weights while trying to reach your "limit" you can be over sixty and own young guys at strong man competitions. "old" Age is an excuse the weak and lazy use.

Since when is sparring get his ass kicked? and besides it's clear that Shep let him through that one he didn't seem really on the edge look someone should do if you are in a fight.

Vega pounded his ass pretty hard. Bloody nose and everything. I hope we get a renegade interrupt to kick him in th nuts or poke him in the eye so we could win the fight. Seriously, I'd love to play dirty for once.

That's fighting like a sissy.

In sparring, yes.

In a real battle, anything that works ends up you living, as opposed to beaten to a pulp or dead has to be used when applicable.

Is that the ME3 artbook or the whole art of ME?

I know I heard an interrupt in there. Maybe you don't have to take the butt kicking. Paragon probably nets you the nose-bleed and stomach punch. Renegade? I'm guessing you kick his butt.

Kai Leng owning Shep makes sense though because he is just as if not more heavily augmented than Shep.

While I think it's pretty clear that Shepard is holding back, it would be stupid if Vega actually beat Shepard in a real fight.

And, just to be clear, I am fine with Shepard losing a fight--against a credible opponent. Shepard being outmatched by Samara's biotics or overpowered by Grunt's brute force or out-neck snapped by Thane would be understandable. Shepard losing a fair fight against (for what we know as of now is) a better than average marine is not.

no, it wouln'dt.

Shep is a ovwerblown Mary Sue.

Cybernetics are not magic.
Mass and volume do make a large difference.

and b.t.w. - even a normal human is capable of lifting 200+ kg under extreeme conditions. When ALL of his muslce fibers activate. Usually ,teh brain and the body prevent that because using 100% of the muscle power available even to a normal human is so much it RIPS OUT YOUR MUSCLES.

Body limitations.
No manner of cybernetics can get rid of it - unless you want to replace the ENTIRE body.

Shepard's a cyborg. He wouldn't show any emotion even if he was on edge.

mine doesn't

and with the bone/muscle/skin enhancements from ME2's research i think vega would break his fists trying to hurt shepard.

Shepard's cybernetics? We don't know how much cybernetics he has and what they are suppose to do, how can anyone but BioWare say he shouldn't be beaten up by Vega on account of those?
And about the ME2 upgrades - those upgrades don't carry over to ME3, so just assume Shep got them removed and now is back to a peg above "normal" N7 marine, like he was when he got out of Lazarus Station.

Besides, like many others here, I like the scene, Shep's out of Mary Sue land, even if he's just sparring.

Vega is the character for players new to the franchise.

It will make the ME novices feel more at home and confident when their stand-in bloodies Shepard's nose.

It's actually a fairly clever device.  Not original to ME3, for sure, but still clever.

Yes, it would.

You don't know what cybernetics are in the Mass Effect universe, nor do you know how much of an advantage they would convey. What we do know is that the series repeatedly portrays Shepard as being as good as it gets as far as humans are concerned. Whether you dislike this fact or not, does not change it.

Finally someone else noticed that. People are too busy complaining about Diana Allers.

I don't even want to kick his ass. If there's a way to kill him, I will do it without thinking twice.

Hasn't practically ALL of Sheps body been rebuilt sythetically/enhanced cybernetics?

... that would not make sense, how could Shep just "remove" the majority of his body and BW told us all about the enhancements....

How do I know this?

Heavy Bone Weave (Skeletal Lattice)
By reinforcing the skeleton with a synthetic weave, bones can be made
almost unbreakable. In the event of bone trauma, medi-gel conduits
allow for bone regenerations in a matter of days.

Heavy Muscle Weave (Microfiber Weave)
Perforating the muscles with micro-fibers increases overall strength
and decreases the potential for muscle damage from exertion.

Heavy Skin Weave (Lattice Shunting)
Strong synthetic fibers can be woven through the skin, dramatically
reducing damage taken from most attacks. These fibers also act as a
medi-gel conduit, improving healing.

The most he could cause is a minor nose bleed. If he punches too hard, a broken hand would be his reward.

It annoys me when people say this to others but, honestly did you read any of them?

Edit: I'll leave you all with this   "I am become death"
