Even for renegade playthroughs I wouldn't take a renegade interupt in that situation. I can see where you guys are coming from but to me that is not what a renegade morality is about. Sure in a real fight it would be ok, but in a sparring match that isn't ruthless, just cowardly and would lead to mistrust in the squad. I would rather see a get off the ground comeback win after he taunts you.

Glad to hear it. He was a great writer, my personal favourite. If you haven't read stuff from him before and you like heroic fantasy, you should check him out.

I wouldn't mind seeing Shepard (Fem or otherwise) getting the crap kicked out of him/her, honestly.

Everyone loves a good story where the protagonist seems to be losing at every turn.

I am actually looking forward to seeing Kai Lang rape Shepard over and over again. Wouldn't mind losing to him.

I would foresee, if such an option existed, a Renegade action (an illegal move of some sort, not necessarily dirty) being undertaken to demonstrate a point. Reapers not striving to fight fair, using tactics entirely unknown to the Citadel civilization, or some such lesson. Not Shepard being a jerk for the sake of being a jerk, which isn't what being a Renegade is about.

I take your point, it would still sit extremely uneasily with me though. It would be one of the few interupts I would never take.

If that's the case, I really wouldn't want to spar with someone who took it that seriously. I've sparred with guys before and I've gotten hit in the face and stomach. But they aren't really hitting that hard and neither am I. Your nose bleeds pretty easily, so it's not unusual for something like that to happen, but really that stuff isn't supposed to go on because it means you're not demonstrating self control which is kind of important in a fight.

I'd expect a soldier like Vega wouldn't be showing off that he's a big manly badass in a sparring match and if he was I'd expect Shepard to deliver a punch in an area that would really hurt to tell him to knock it off.

Losing to a newbie marine grunt? Yes. And you don't need to be Mary Sue to get upset about losing a sparring fight to a newb.

I mean come on, there is no way Shepard would lose to a marine grunt newb like Vega, not after beating a Yagh hand-to-hand in ME2.

I remember Shepard convincing Grunt to join the crew with the barrel of his gun so I'm pretty sure Shepard is going to win the fight with Vega without any renegade interrupts. Plus I can not see the developers creating a situation were a squad member physically beats up the protagonist in a mock fight especially one that is new to the franchise.

In short people stop getting your underwear in a twist over 2 seconds of video.

I agree that Shepard losing to Vega is a dumb idea.

Now, Shepard losing to Thane or Garrus makes sense, as these two (particularly Thane) are CQC experts.
