No point in talking to him, if Shepard's first punch would knock Vegas head off his shoulders.
And a bleeding nose...
Oh my god, the universe will be destroyed by the reapers, if they hit Shepard's achilles-nose... -.-

Shepard is Vega's commanding officer getting into a situation where Vega is questioning his/her orders and punching him/her in the face at the same time shows a total lack of authority by Shepard.

And Vega's bigger than Shep so no wonder Shep's getting a little bloody.

Yeah, I gotta say watching a giant dude like Vega smacking around a woman half his size isn't going to sit very well with me.

It would be bad ass if she kick boxed him to compensate for her thin arms.
Something like this BSG scene...

Wouldn't really have a big problem with that.
This is fiction afterall and Shepard is genetically and cybernetically enhanced so a female Shepard with a much smaller build is going to be much stronger and tougher than she would appear.
But in the real world a man should never hit a woman and I don't think I'll be able to watch Vega's character punch femshep in the face without thinking to myself "Wow, Vega is a total piece of ****".

What must you have thought of all the mercs and villians in ME1 and ME2 who tried to kill Shepard?

Relax. They're sparring and blowing off steam. I'm sure Shepard needs that just as much as Vega does. It's somewhat like what Garrus had described goes on in Turian vessels right before a mission. I'm betting you Vega doesn't win, Shepard was obviously setting up the haymaker when he made that comment about wisdom and experience.

Well, I don't play as femShep, so idk. I'll have to wait for someone to post that scene up on youtube to check it out.

Having seen the FemShep images, better hope vega does not breath on her, she'd wilt, no offense to FemShep fans, I'm a fan myself, but the currently shown FemShep does not look like she's seen any action, apart from some scars she looks like she is straight out of the academy, certainly in a fight with vega it would be wit and speed needed, but I don't see it happening, it just would not look right, I'm hoping they've come up with some kind of other challenge between vega and FemShep.Asch Lavigne wrote...

Shepard is the COMMANDING OFFICER!
As a commanding officer you never allow your subordinates to get into a situation that undermines your authority. If you want to spar with someone your own rank or someone who isn't under your command that's one thing; but you can't allow your subordinates to be punching you in the face while they question your leadership.
There are plenty of ways to blow off steam and relate to your men that don't involve undermining your authority.

Maybe you should take another look at the footage. It looks like Shepard and Vega are yelling at each other either AFTER the fight, or BEFORE the fight. Neither of them is bruised.

Nice way to attract feminists like honey. Don't undermine a woman's ability and position in a military setting, it's not all about brawn.

When Vega yells at Shepard isn't particularly important, the fact that he's defying his commanding officer and showing a complete lack of respect is.
If Vega mouths off to Shepard like that then Shepard needs to lay down the law. And at that point Vega better get very used to saying the phrase "Sir, Yes Sir."

Clearly thats not what is happening in this scene. It seems likely that Vega isn't fighting to seize control of shi----
BAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Could've finish that sentence!!!!
Anyways, you don't know the context of the scene. And you must be insane if you think the SR2 crew is confined to the usual military protocols. It seems fairly reasonable that Shepard, renegade or not, is somewhat lenient in what rules exist. Just look at the crew interactions in ME1 and 2 for more.

As 100K pointed out, Shepard is rather lenient, regs-wise, when talking to the crew, (and wasn't even really Alliance, in ME2). Maybe Shepard is more used to working as a sort of first among equals type thing. Or maybe he/she just doesn't care that much about Alliance regs anymore.
As was said, we don't know the context of the scene. It could possibly even be before Shepard is reinstated in the Alliance.

There is a reason why the U.S. military doesn't deploy women in combat roles and its the same reason why women have their own sports leagues and why a man should never hit a woman.
Feminists need to live in reality and in reality small framed women aren't going to be able to beat a man in a fight.
PS: As a 250 pound man let me say that the ability to kick someones ass is really not a very useful skill in comparison to feminine charm. In my entire life I can think of a handful of occassions where being physically intimidating has been really useful to me although being able to lift large objects is handy.
PPS: As I and others have pointed out, FemShep is a genetically and cybernetically enhanced woman, so she's stronger than her frame would suggest. None the less I still find the image of a large man hitting a small woman disturbing.

I hope that fight scene is just a product of Shepard humoring Vega... because I want the option of just being like, "LOL no.", and foot-sweeping him to the floor. Not that I have anything against Vega. I just feel that Shepard is a little bit above getting smacked around at this point.

I am not against Shepard getting beaten but I expect the one who Bests him has to be more than some run of the Mill Military Grunt like Vega as alot of people have said Shepard has the Ability to Go Hand 2 Hand with a Yahg and as well as Krogans.
My point is if Shepard gets his A** beat it should be by a Reaper Indoctrinated Foe a perfect Example was mentioned ealier Saren I wouldn't mind losing to a Strong Foe like that but not to a Grunt like Vega.
