I like the look of the new Normandy's interior

The ME2 Normandy's interior was soothing. Sometimes, in between missions, I'd just wander around and look at stuff. Once I counted the bunks on the Crew Deck to see if their number was consistent with the amount of NPCs standing around. It was. Discovering the secret bathroom in Shepard's cabin on my third playthrough was incredible.

I see that the command center and pilot are still on opposite ends of the deck. Why not take the rear admirals suggestion seriously? That was a pretty good point he raised about the danger of the comms going down making communication difficult. I hope that CIC has some megaphones on board. Why do they even still have all of those workstations when EDI can run the whole ship for Joker?

I've read that EDI kept from being killed by the Alliance during the redesign by pretending to be a stupid VI. Considering that, they don't know that there's an AI installed that can do all the work for those stations.

After watching the cast reveal I;m pretty happy with how the interior of the Normandy looks. I felt the Cerberus "bright is right" lighting scheme terrible unimmersive. ME1's Normandy was dark, very SCI-FI, and it looks like ME3 is reverting back to that, at least in the cockpit with Joker, and I'm stoked.

It was just one more ploy by Illusive Man to make it seem like Cerberus is next to God.

Besides the red glow, I like it.

"Red glow" is light emitting from on ship displays. If you ask me much better option then orange color in ME1/ME2.

I agree

Maybe the red glow is not always there, could be on Red Alert!

I think it's so beautiful. Gotta agree with Clearly Balkan--the red glow is like 10000000000000000000x better than that hideously fugly orange that vomited all over my ME2. *sighs, experiencing the catharsis of finally having admitted that* I've been playing ME2 again and it just irks me. Bright construction orange is the color most visible to the human eye, so it's even more obnoxious. Ugh.

This ME3 concept art looks like ME1's beautiful color scheme with ME2's improved graphics, layout, map, and proportions and a lighting level in between ME1 & 2.

All in all, I freaking LOVE it. I can't imagine it being more perfect. Can't wait to see my Shepards standing there.

I missed Normandy's blue lights so badly in ME2, it was all "augh too bright too bright too bright"

I just hope that it's not too dark in the final game, otherwise everything starts blurring together like in ME1 where everything was blue. Other than that, this concept art looks pretty cool.

Mmm, gotta say I love the moodiness of the Normandy's interior.

Shepard better have an option where he can just sit down and relax while smoking a cigar quietly in the back.

They should put up a few light dimmers so Shepard can adjust the brightness.

It looks like "Red Alert" - that ship is a warship and it's combat ready. I love that. It gives the game a much darker attitude - and it fits. The galaxy is burning - why should the Normandy look like a luxury liner?

My thoughts exactly, the red glow and the dim lighting looks like the red alert status on Starfleet starships when the ship is going into battles.

I just can't get over it; the red and blue... just the perfect shades. Heh, my old man's favorite color is blue, and red is mine, and we bonded through gaming and both love the ME series, so we're so gonna high-five over this.

My nerdjoy is epic. That looks sooo cool!

Get out of my head, I did the same thing lol. If I remember correctly there were 24 beds in total, so if the crew hot racked as most naval vessels do, it certainly is consistant.

The normandy in ME2 was far too metallic and cold.

I liked it like that.  I'm not going to complain about low-lighting, I just better not have to turn up the Brightness.

Yes!  Who says that that powerful tantalus drive core can't handle a bit more power?  Kirk was always asking Scotty for more!

I'd also like to have control over the lights in my own cabin.  This is the 22nd century, for crying out loud!

EDI and Joker have a conversation about why it wouldn't be logical to have an AI run the entire ship. Something about superior hardware always winning, but for organics, it's different, because there is no concrete "superiority" between organics and other machinery.

Variable calculations are incredibly hard for a machine.  Also, the Alliance wouldn't supplant control of a ship to an AI.

Normandy SR-1 was designed based off Turian warship practices.  My guess is the Normandy SR-2 was built to accomadate (sp?) whatever they learned as useful.  That, or make Shepard more confortable.

I have the Art Of The Mass Effect Universe book, and it shown this same picture.I wish they have shown what Shep's captain's quarters, the comm room, engineering, crew quarters and those new areas that Bioware was talking about after the Alliance refit.
