I hope he's got a good sense of humour. With the exception of Garrus, most of the male LIs are very serious. And even Garrus has the whole "emotionally damaged" thing going on.

From what I've read, he does have a very dark backstory, but he is very playful when he gets flirty. As the poster above me said, I think James Vega is the most lighthearted LI.

I read some of the dialogues back when I discovered that they were going to include s/s romances for real. I liked what I read, but so far I would mRomance Vega before him if possible. So far.


I may change my mind after seeing and hearing him, though. I don't care that he's not a squadmate, but what if he has a very annoying voice, or horrific facial features???

what I read of him so far is making it very tempting to play a Shepard romancing him before all my other Shepards. I don't think there's much of anything that can ruin him for me at this point.

Bioware has a reputation for making dead boring male love interests. I'm afraid it might have to do with what they consider normal, interesting or attractive. I do understand the point of Cortez being relatively normal. However I personally would have preferred a personality like Suze or Grunt. Impulsive, aggressive, violent, damaged, spiteful,... Anyway, we're all human. There's a reason why Vega and Miranda are so popular. And I'm sure if Suze would have changed hair and tatoos with Miranda, it would be different. So I just hope he's at least kind of hot.

Good to see bioware working on crew member LI's and s/s romance's, I really like the idea of Steve being a m/m only LI and Sam being a f/f only LI, he's going to be another drinking buddy for my all my Sheps

I'm interested that with Steve Cortez and Diana Allers if Bioware are essentially introducing romance paths with a number of non-squaddies. Perhapa Kelly was really popular?

I'll go pragmatic and say that non-squaddie LI means that you have one extra romance without need to write party banter for them or record extra reactions on plot events or create armored look. But looks like this resource limitation worked - Steve seems to have more romance dialogues than any other character.

I was slightly disappointed about the (possibly) only character available for m/m being a non-squadmate, but really I think I was judging that opinion off of the Kelly romance from ME2, and I really didn't like her (still save her every time, though, I hate having teammates die). Steve seems like an awesome character, and his romance much more developed than not only Kelly's, but most of the squad romances from ME2. I'm looking forward to him!

If Shepard is developing a relationship with Steve do any of the squad member's have banter about it? I'm pretty sure that people will take notice of Shepard's LI
