What interview?

Pfft, a conservative façade more like. Their military has a major male prostitution problem IIRC. Every Russian I've met was either gay, curious, or completely fine with gays (a cultural thing?). But then again, that is only a sample group within my part of the world.Frozen83 wrote...
Niiice...I knew Russia was a bit conservative, but haven't suspeceted 60 pages of homphobia in just one day. M.
Don't worry Elijah. Homophobes in all regions of the world will change or go extinct sooner or later. I live in Poland and it ain't San Francisco here either.ElijahRee wrote...
Oh guys ... Today on bioware.ru forum posted an interview with Patrick Weekes and Dusty Everman. That was cruel !60+ pages of war with impenetrable homophobes who do not hear anyone but themselves. Рoor our moderators...

Yeah you're right. Oh and smpling method: college.Frozen83 wrote...
Gay prostitution has nothing to do with homophobia. And yes, your sample is probably biased (and I'm telling you that because that would be my first thought, and because you didn't elaborate your sampling method). M.
No argument there. Kind of a sad truth.Frozen83 wrote...
Forget that. Colleges are (at least when younger people are involved) somewhat more liberally inclined than the general population. M.
It shouldn't even need to be discussed. But yanno, politics. . .ElijahRee wrote...
It's just funny and sad at the same time to read about it.
In Russia there are far more important issues than homosexuality.
But it's also nice to see how many straight men and women defending Steve in ME3 and gays in general.
It's difficult to find a lot of good pics of Cortez.Frozen83 wrote...
Try talking with the "elders" in academia. I was... SHOCKED by the homophobic remarks from some of them. But this is offtopic. Please, some more pics of Cortez. It's midnight here, and I need a good night sleep with some nice dreams for tomorrow. M.

No problem, remember that Steve finds it very hard to say no to youFrozen83 wrote...

What wonderful images you guys bring to min! I do love Steve - even more than stuffy ol' Kaidan!!
Hey now, don't you be picking on my Kaidan! i love 'em both for different reasons to be sure, but I love 'em both.

LOL... for one I like Steve's scruffy face and Kaidan's gray temples. I love how Steve is open about his sexuality where Kaidan is reserved about anything personal. (Personally I'm a mix between those two). I love Steve's blue eyes, I have brown eyes like Kaidan but I always wanted either blue or green eyes.
Edit: I'm mid-30's now, I've known more than one gay friend (a few ex-lovers) who've "gone straight" and got married and now totally deny everthing. One is even now some ultra-conservative homophobe.

Oh and that's stupid. How on earth can someone do that? What causes that drastic of change?

Thanks for the fix. You always seem to catch my screw ups.
I guess I don't, or maybe can't, understand that. Perhaps your generation, at least a decade from mine, is just weird, I don't know. I could never be with a woman, I mean it's just not possible. Unless all of your friends were magically bi, I think something fishy is going on. Getting a child isn't an excuse either. There's always adoption and of course surrogacy.Kunari801 wrote....
I guess your last part was about my "edit" section.
Well, going from the ones I know it's been a mix-n-match of: Family pressure, another wanted "kids of his own", religious pressure, "It was college, we all do stupid stuff in college!", and the most honest one was probably a "I was just curious/experimenting"
The college one was funny since he was the one who came onto me (I was still totally in denial at the time) and he's a big flame. He was nice but wasn't really my type but we became friends and he got me to come-out by dispelling the gay stereotypes that I thought was real.
I can totally understand the Kids one, I'd love to have a child but it's not in the cards for me.

It really sad actually :/ And not just for them personally, but also because of lives of women (and potentially kids too) they will mess up (because sooner or later the truth will come out, it always does, you can't hide such thing forever) :/Digitalis32 wrote...
It must be hard knowing that those guys who have "gone straight" and deny their same-sex attractions are fundamentally , unhappy people.

I would go as far to say it's selfish. You end up hurting your wife and kids (if you have them) because you can't bare to be who you really are.IsaacShep wrote...

I think selfish is the perfect word for it: think about it, you're essentially using other people so you aren't perceived to be a certain way. Your wife thinks you love her and have an attraction to her. Your kids think their parents are in love. But in the end, your still married to this woman to cover up for your own insecurities. That's why I'd never EVER date a woman. Even if society perceives me to be a certain way and it was still a stigma, couldn't do it. Terribly unfair and selfish.Tiberis wrote...
