I'm about to start a male Shepard playthrough who'll be single until he meets Steve. I spent my whole first FemShep playthrough wishing he'd make an exception just for me. He's too cute.

Well, you can just Gibbed the Kaidan romance in when you import into ME3 if the "Ma'am" bothers you.  I did that with my Renegade Shep when I imported him the butt-shot is too nice to miss.   Can't remember if I got the "Don't Kaidan Me!" line on Mars though.  

Yeah, I did that once, but it just felt so weird. I prefer "Ma'am" over a romance which never happened.

I didn't know until recently of the fix/mod/hack/whatever-you-want-to-call-it to enable a male-Shep to romance Kaidan in ME1, so I have multiple male Shepards that head-canon romanced Kaidan.   So Gibb those files just restored what should have been.  

Some of those Sheps will now go for Steve instead, but I did Gib my renegade to see what would happen when I picked Steve over a reunion with Kaidan.  

Red is the ONLY ending the others do not exist in my universe.   <_<

There's also a pink option. But seriously, if red is destroy, blue is control, then there should have been a violet which would be deactivate . RIght? Right! M.

Don't get me started on the endings..  Steve & Shepard deserve to be reunited.   There is only one ending that gives that any possibilty (as distasteful as it is) so that's the only ending I acknowledge. 

This fan-made one isn't too bad. 
  It needs Steve instead of Miranda as the LI but it's a proper bittersweet ending.

I personally would have found a brilliant white explosion that doesn't destroy the mass relays and tells all the reapers* to just f*ck off and then we get to see a cut scene where off the reapers f*ck, Shepard goes to hospital in critical condition and after a month or so when he has recovered from his injuries he re-unites with the crew of the normandy and  mourn the ones they had lost in the war against the reapers, Shepard is re-united with the LI who he marries -  on their honeymoon they have a 24 hour sexytime marathon. There would have been fewer  plot holes in that kind of ending.


*Another thing that really ticks me off about the ending is why do the reapers just sit and wait in darkspace for 50,000 years for each cycle? surely there are other galaxies out there with sentient life? Why does the milky way hold such interest for them? There are literally millions if not billions of galaxies out there, why does ours vex them so? If they were really hell bent on the idea of destroying life in order to preserve it they would have a planatary hit list a googolplex long.

Like your idea, I'd love a 4th option to tell star-brat to Frack-off and take the Reapers with it.   But I doubt we'll get that in the EC so I don't want to really think about it.  

What really makes me mad is:  THEY HAD IT.  Right in front of them.  A perfect bittersweet ending right there with the Anderson scene, it would have been a fine to let Shep and Anderson watch the Reapers get defeated while bleeding out.  If high enough EMS, Shepard lives if not he dies next to Anderson.   Epilogue of LI reunion or a funeral for Shepard and show a scene or two of the crew & galaxy rebuilding.    Perfect ending.   

We won't get that with the EC, but it's the ending Mass Effect deserved.

I head canon Steve and Shepard's reunion. Garrus finds Shepard in bad shape but still alive.   Steve is in a shuttle miles away with a S&R team and hears Garrus' call for help. He comes flying in with the med team pushing the shuttle to it's limits.

As the med team works on Shepard he wakes up and sees Steve hovering over the med team. Just before the meds knock him out again their eyes lock and Shepard smiles. Weeks later he wakes up with Steve by his bed.

More like Shepard is in bad shape still conected to monitors and machines, there is too much medical "stuff" around to have someone lying next to him.   But yes, once he's recovered more they'll spend plenty of time in bed.  

But that's my head canon, you can do what you want in yours.

Where do you guys think Steve and Shepard will "retire" to when it's all over? Maybe I'm biased, but I see them spending their lives in Santa Cruz, CA!

My Shepard is Earth Born so I think Steve and Shep would try to help all the orphans that'd be left without families.

Same here, Shepard and Cortez will most likely want some alone time away from the public eye...because there would be a great deal of attention focused on the guy that is dating/married to the saviour of the galaxy, the media would be all over that. I think they would want a place that is private, especially if they have kids of their own or adopt.

No! Bad! Shepard and Cortez will not pull a Princess Diana on us! Besides, Shep an Cortez will probably do all of their own driving, so no drunk drivers for them.

If it wasn't destroyed in the invasion, sure. It was a beautiful place, private too. But I think this would depend on Shepard being a colonist or spacer kid; an earthborn would likely want to stay on earth even moreso if Cortez was also earthborn (we aren't actually told if he is or not I think).
